    Predict Wildcard Weekend

No one is going 49ers over Eagles but that would have the same effect. Here is want I think, rather than what I want. Ordered by how coonfident I am. Pats over Chargers: I think Herbert is overrated and the Pats can only beat the teams put in front of them, a month ago I underestimated the...

    Did We Finish #1 Defense?

Whiile that is true stopping opponents scoring points also depends on the offence and special teams. If the offence are comitting a tot of turnovers giving the opposition the ball in the Red zone (or conceding pick 6s) then we will concede more points, if the offence dominate have an effective...

Perna Wheel just cursed the Rams!!!

A few things from the full Perna video: Only 3 teams have made the play-offs with a worse point differential than the Panthers, all 3 won in the WC round Dave Canalas was on the team that won one of those games (Hawks WR coach in 2010) It has been well published that the Pats had the 3rd...

Half Time Power Rankings: How things change

Just been looking at the Power Rankings from half way through the season. You would expect by that time the power teams would start to being recognised but there is little relationship between that list and play-off seedings / Final record. None of the top 3 in the Power Rankings (Lions...

    QBOTF?

Isn't that an Oxymoron. Sam is the QBOTP (QB of the present) he wont last forever and identifying the QBOTF looking for someone to replace him when Sam needs to be replaced. That could be 5 or more years away, so we are in a position where having a bridge as back-up (someone who is capable in...

    QBOTF?

QBs that can virtually win it all for the team are extremey rare a 100/1 shot at best without a top 5 draft pick (and maybe 30/1 with one). What we have now is a decent QB with an outstanding roster. We won it all with RW3 and should challenge for it with Sam. How long the window will be is...

    Wins against playoff teams

Are people still saying that? Until week 13 it was pretty much true, we had not beaten the Rams, 49ers or Panthers and the Texans and Steelers were on the outside looking in. Our only win at that point against a team in a playoff position was against the Jags. Our schedule was loaded with the...

    Sam

There are two ways to get a number 1 seed. Have an all great QB and a good enough team surrounding him Have a good enough QB and a great team in other positions. Darnold is only one of two QBs to have had successive 14-3 seasons. He is no Tom Brady, but he has been good enough to not waste our...

Division champ with a losing record

It was more a theoretical exercise than a serious suggestion, football is deigned to have a level playing field, and the UFL isn't anything like a second divsion of football. Having said that despite all the attempts to pull them up off the basement with high draft picks (and lots of draft...

Division champ with a losing record

That got me thinking about how this could really work. Outside the US many if not most professional sports are based around promotion and relegation, so the team(s) that do worst get relegated to the second tier (Think AAA baseball but the teams are not farms of major league teams). Having...

    Hawks open as 4.5 underdogs???

But when did it open? At the start of the season us being 4.5 underdogs would be reasonable. I am pretty sure we were 1.5 favorites last weekend.

    Did we damage the Rams?

The icing on the cake with the Falcons win is it means the Rams get a lower draft pick from them.

In SF for the Division Title and #1 Seed.

A little more likely now we are guaranteed at least 5th seed.

In SF for the Division Title and #1 Seed.

We could play 3 of our last 5 games this season in Santa Clara. While I would prefer 3 games at Lumen Field, the idea of losing on Saturday but getting our revenge by ending their season in their own back yard then going back there and picking up the Super Bowl is somewhat appealing.

    Darnold Has incentive to Win

The only issue with incentives is sometimes they are perverse. For example say in the dying seconds of the SB a team need a TD to win and have the ball on the 1 yard line. They have a stud RB almost guaranteed to make it accross the line of scrimmage but the QB is on a bonus for passing TDs so...

This 5 seed scenario isn’t too shabby either.

Yes but if all 3 WC teams win then the 5th seed are at home to the 6th in the divisional round, I thought that is what they were talking about, it is fairly unlikely but would expect the 5th seed and possibly 6th seed to be the favorites on WC weekend.

    Will we be flexed

Just a thought if w are the last game. We could have a situation with one game left where there are still 3 teams with a chance of the No 1 seed. The winner get the No 1 seed and a tie would result in it going to the Rams.

    Will we be flexed

The two win and in games will be given given the evening slots (Ravens @ Steelers and Panthers @ Buccs). We will probably be given the earlier Saturday slot.

    Raiders/PC after this season

Maybe he did the trade because he still loves the Seahawks. Maybe RW3 was so bad in Denver because he wanted us to have a high pick. (Well maybe not)
