Pete and John love the Broncos ;-)

"Perhaps" Denver was offering RW "straight up" for Drew Lock? *John Schneider hung up "No backsies"*

Robinson 5th round pick 2020 (Released)

Sadly Alton Robinson never got to "realize" his NFL potential. Many NFL players miss out on "windows of opportunity" when progress through your rookie contract is closely monitored. Perhaps this clears the way for Tyreke Smith to earn a spot on our 53 man roster. The progression necessary to...

    What if Geno regresses?

All semantics aside...labeling a QB as elite or just a "game manager"...it really comes down to how well he executes what he has been coached ...in carrying out the intent of the play called in from the sidelines. The Offensive Coordinator is the Offensive "designer" and (utilizing the tools...

Does Jaxon Smith-Njigba has some Jerry Rice in him?

Ha Ha ...we have our own Megatron and Rice/Kupp "knock-offs" in DK and JSN...with Tyler "Rockett" thrown in for good measure.

Does Jaxon Smith-Njigba has some Jerry Rice in him?

Right now the only comp to Jerry Rice I "see" is good size and decisive route running that creates "easy" separation to make full use of his game speed (lacking true "track" speed which Rice also lacked ...being a 4.6 40 timer)

    Witherspoon at slot?

Many good posts...I'll add my own. Spoon is our corner of choice as CB2 in our base defenses. The Nickel packages will vary between Heavy Nickel (3 safeties) and the traditional nickel of 3 corners with M-Jack/Coby rotating in based on Spoon covering the "better" WR in either the slot or the...

    What if Geno regresses?

I see you represent a common view within our fan base...with Geno as a "bridging" QB who overachieved? My own take sees Geno as "exceptionally good" why bother with "elite" perceptions. Geno actually was the best in the NFL in the Deep Pass (according to Next Generation Stats). As the season...

    Witherspoon Hasn’t signed yet.

It means Fant will play "invisible"...he's too dangerous to be ignored with so many other Seahawks "demanding" coverage...with even an average defense our offense can count on adding 2-3 additional drives per game. JSN and our RB stable might mean that when our offense does begin a...

    Witherspoon Hasn’t signed yet.

Interesting opinion...sure hands in a TE who excels in the seam is expendable? ( 3 dropped passes in 2 yrs while being targeted 153 times at a 79.4 % completion) 4 Vert passing is very hard on coverage but with Fant as the TE in a 3WR (11 personnel formation) package featuring DK/Tyler/JSN...why...

    Witherspoon Hasn’t signed yet.

Cap space was the only hold up and Nwosu was just extended (even though I thought Noah Fant would be the extension to "free up" cap space). Training camp begins in earnest tomorrow!

    What if Geno regresses?

I'll just simply state "old" "bad" Geno was before he arrived on our team. Regression is normally associated with injury/loss of play maker(s)/loss of O-Line structure/rookie who got by with no tape available for opponent to "study"/loss of Coach or Offensive Coordinator/outside "personal"...

    The way too early

Pretty sure Jarran Reed will be in Base Def as 5T (Big DE) for 3-4 Base and DT for 4-3 Base. I see Mafe and Hall battling for Edge/OLB opposite Uchenna.

    Odd man out

Valid points...but my take is this...JSN is this year's WR1c hanging out in the WR3 slot which he played out of over 70% of his career. You saw Tyler Lockett look out of place running fly sweeps. Speed and quickness is Tyler's forte but Tyler doesn't break many tackles (We don't need him to)...

    Odd man out

Not sure if those "knocking" Dee noticed...but in a "film session" focused on Walker III explosive runs...one of the key elements was seeing jersey #1 (Dee) take out a "would be tackler" letting K9 take off in 2nd gear. I didn't know Dee saw the field that much last year...let alone any impact...

    YAC YAC YAC.

Think about this...the NFL emphasis on tackling and punishing "helmet to helmet" contact will lead to more defenders looking to make leg tackle wrap ups...strong lower bodies like JSN/K9/Char and even DK can benefit with a resulting spike in yards after catch.

Mina Kimes ranks Pete Carroll at #10 among coaches

Your take is familiar territory for many in our diverse fan base. I feel there are many variables at play throughout the length of a season with overcoming adversity just beginning to scratch the surface as one of many expectations. A great composed QB able to make "all the throws" is like...

Mina Kimes ranks Pete Carroll at #10 among coaches

The sack "argument" is not stable ground for discerning "blame". Are sacks being accumulated due to good coverage? What is a reasonable time frame for an O-Line to sustain their blocks?...and how does that vary with QB style?...ability for QB to recognize and adjust pass pro called/ "hot"...

Mina Kimes ranks Pete Carroll at #10 among coaches

Your reasoning is sound...I offer RW isn't comfortable as a pure pocket passer...there is a reason your non-prototype QB has to exhibit abnormal athleticism and take good care of their body while making full use of the QB slide when they "escape" the pocket whether forced or by design...once you...
