Schneider to speak to media 11am PST today

What would you have liked him to say that would inspire confidence for you? He said what we've all been saying for years........the message and play was stale and not working, they underachieved this year when they should have taken a step forward, etc. etc. We don't want more Pete...

    Raheem Morris

Yeah McVay almost single handedly won that game Saturday night against Detroit with the adjustments he made during the 2nd half. The Rams were dead in the water, and almost came back and won..........with much more inferior talent on both sides of the ball. I hate saying that, but the man can...

    Raheem Morris

Remember, Morris was extremely young when he got the TB gig. I think he might have even been the youngest coach ever hired at the time? Not sure, but a lot can change in a decade. He's gone on to be a very good coordinator under one of the top 2-3 coaches in the entire league in McVay...

    Frank Smith Discussion

I have to plead the 5th on most of these coordinators, but I'm with PNW. It's hard to get excited for a coordinator when his HC still has playcalling duties, and makes all the in game adjusting like McDaniels does in Miami. But if Schneider interviews Smith and he blows him away with all the...

Dan Quinn & Mike MacDonald Interviews

I think some of you guys are confused with how this works. Unless said coordinator or coach is fired, teams have to ask permission in writing to other teams to schedule official visits for their head coach openings. Those transactions are seen by all the media nerds to the very minute they're...

Dan Quinn & Mike MacDonald Interviews

Idk what you're even saying Chris. Coach visits are official releases to the press, they don't land Quinn under the cover of darkness, throw him in a potato sack at Seatac and usher him into the VMAC so no one knows. Will he visit Seattle next week? Idk. But as of now, no official visit scheduled.

Dan Quinn & Mike MacDonald Interviews

The only absolute I was pointing out was that Quinn does not have an interview scheduled in Seattle next week.

    DeBoer likely going to Bama

Fair enough, but I don't think anyone outside of the SEC fully understands the gravity of the Alabama job. It's why guys like Norville, Sark, Deebo and Kiffin turned it down before Bama went hard after DeBoer. There's no room for error, and successful coaches that now have the full power of...

Dan Quinn & Mike MacDonald Interviews

Probably not a good sign for Quinn lovers that he's not even scheduled to interview here at all next week. https://x.com/AlbertBreer/status/1746963251869433946?s=20

One point that works in DQ's favor

Quinn was also Pete's line coach in 2009-2010 before going to Florida and coming back. So four years total. How long does someone need to be a coordinator before he's officially a disciple? Same schemes, same principles, same philosophies. Maybe Quinn would be good, but IMO Schneider wants to...

One point that works in DQ's favor

I just don't think Schneider wants to bring in a Pete disciple. I think he's excited to put his stamp on the organizational direction now that he's out from underneath's Pete veto/control. That stamp isn't going to consist of a lesser version of Pete who struggles against most of the Shanahan...

Pete Carroll: Wasn't 'football people' who decided his fate

Jones hired Jimmy Johnson, that's as far as the credit olive branch I'm willing to extend to him. He also was able to accumulate an All Pro team of free agents before the hard cap was implemented. So nah, I'm not giving Jones much credit for being a savvy football mind just cause he played...

Pete Carroll: Wasn't 'football people' who decided his fate

Yeah how's that going. Dude's meddled his way to mediocrity for a solid three decades thinking he knows better than actual football people.
  14. Sgt. Largent

Just STOP with the Quinn is Pete C 2.0!!!

All Quinn proved last night is that he has just as hard of a time as Pete at stopping a Shanahan style of offense. Considering we have two extremely smart and talented Shanahan disciples in our division, I'll take a hard pass at Quinn. Btw, no knock on Quinn, the entire league is having the...

Pete Carroll: Wasn't 'football people' who decided his fate

This statement was as close as Pete will ever come to something that sounds like sour grapes. Unless you're Al Davis, EVERY pro football team is owned by "non football people", as well as Presidents of football operations who made their juice and success in the business world, not the football...

    DeBoer likely going to Bama

I don't know this, and either do you. DeBoer's never been anywhere long enough to prove he can recruit successfully...............and certainly not at the level and expectations he'll have on him at Alabama. Even before he took the job UW was like 25th in country in the current recruiting...

    Does Defense still win championships?

No national or even local narrative agrees with you, or this assessment of how the game went down. But if believing the Huskies were jobbed getting their asses handed to them and Penix having what, 8 straight drives to tie up the game and couldn't do it? Then more power to you.

    Does Defense still win championships?

I think the trend is have a great offense, but still have at least an average to above average defense. All Pete had to do is get his defense to slightly better than average and that would have probably equaled 2-3 more wins. That's all it takes. Just can't be terrible. This is why I like...

    Does Defense still win championships?

Nah, they beat the living crap out of Penix to the point he was missing wide open receivers and seeing ghosts on almost every drop back, and ran for 200 yards in the 1st quarter alone. Some bad no calls, but if this was your takeaway from the Championship game, you weren't watching closely enough.

    DeBoer likely going to Bama

Having said what I said above, I don't think it will go well for DeBoer. Dude's an amazing football coach, but IMO he doesn't understand the gravity and pressure of what he's getting himself into. In no world could he, or will he live up to arguably the greatest college coach in history...
