Would you be upset if the cap money was left on the table?

A lot of teams have space because they've moved cap hits back. Effectively that's just moving future years' cap space forward. Not spending 2022 & 2023 cap money in 2021 isn't 'leaving cap money on the table'. For perspective the Seahawaks have already allocated all of their 2021 cap money and...

Cap space 6 million just dissapeared, where are we spending?

The expected cost for the 16-man practice squad is just over $3M for the year. The cap year runs March to March but the signing bonus/dead money runs June to June.

Cam Newton vs Geno Smith, who would you pick for a backup QB

Surprise/familiar name/interesting cuts around the league

Lamp was released with an injury settlement. Basically it means that instead of going to IR for the year, 8 weeks, or whatever, the player and team agree for him to be paid a negotiated number of weeks pay. The player can't play or sign elsewhere for that negotiated number of weeks but once it's...

Disgusting misinformed lies on your part.

I don't think Witherspoon is going to make it

Cutting him doesn't save any money and replacing him costs extra. That said if he's not good enough to be 1 of your best 5 CBs you bite the bullet and move on. I don't think he's so bad you do that at this point.

    Is Penny A Bust?

He's been a huge disappointment for the last 3 years. The more important question is whether he's worth $1.368M to any NFL team this year. The minimum salary for a 3 year yet in 2021 is $920K. I don't see him being out of the NFL this year but his trade value is near zero.

    Pierre Desir signs with Seahawks

I'm not surprised to see him cut before the end of preseason. Good luck to him in his future endeavours.

Depth is concerning? What games have you guys been watching?

If Wilson and Smith are both going to play then fair enough. Personally I don't see any benefit to playing Wilson. I'm not questioning McGough's departure, merely the timing of it. It's never too late to find an alternative to Mannion.

Depth is concerning? What games have you guys been watching?

Cutting McGough indicates either Smith is ready to play or another QB is being signed. It would be crazy to go into a game with just Mannion. I would have kept McGough for another week to be an unused scrub in the 3rd game if the others stayed healthy.

    49ers cut Rosen.

Sudfield was on the Eagles active roster for multiple games and he played in Week 17. Rosen was a PS player who was given the chance to temporarily be a #2 for the 49ers, (with a chance to compete for that role in 2021). He didn't know at that time that the 49ers were Hell bent on adding a top...

Mannion needs promoted to the 2nd string QB!

Mannion has 6 years of NFL experience behind him and he's still last on the depth chart. It makes sense for a playoff team to have a veteran as the #3 on the PS rather than a prospect so by all means give him reps if McGough is toast and the team can't get someone else. It's a shame to waste...

What would it take for you to want Pete fired?

Getting rid of a HC is easy. Finding a top 4 HC to replace him is the problem. When the HC you're getting rid of is a top 10 HC it just amplifies the risk.

Hot take, Jamal Adams worst signing Seahawks history.

I wasn't trying to make a point or dispute any point you were making. It was just football talk, hopefully entertaining or informative. I wasn't looking for or trying to win any argument. In preseason there was some talk on this site about the Seahawks having the best secondary in the NFL. I...

Hot take, Jamal Adams worst signing Seahawks history.

The Rams from 2000 to 2009 hit on 2 1st round picks and 2 2nd round picks. That's 4 hits and 16 busts at the top of the Draft. More recently people rightly laughed at Greg Robinson, but at least he contributed for 3 years. To have picked as well, or poorly, as the Seahawks was a pipe dream. The...

Hot take, Jamal Adams worst signing Seahawks history.

I think the Seahawks gave up too much to acquire Adams. If it's a $70M extension then it's $80M over 5 years considering his current deal. I'll wait for the full details but it seems a lot more team friendly than it could have been. The worst signings are players who contribute very little at...

With $13 mil. in cap space, where do they spend it? 2 picks

Teams use roster bonuses to manipulate cap hits. The cap hit is delayed until other dates in the future. The team doesn't gain any extra cap. It's like taking out an interest free overdraft to alleviate current cash-flow issues, (in an NFL case meaning borrowing cap space). The current extra cap...

    2 home 2 away schedule

I concur with having as even a season as possible for every team. Home field in the early part of the season is a bigger advantage than late season home field advantage so any team starting with 2 home games and finishing with 2 road games would have a big advantage. The NFL should be looking to...

    2012-2014 preseason +16 point differential 2015-2019 +3

Preseason points differential doesn't matter, results don't matter, (and quite surprisingly), awful preseason performances by borderline talents don't matter if the positional coach has seen something in the player behind closed doors and unseen by the public. In 2018 the Rams drafted a 6th...
