If not the Hawks , than GO SF !

Ok, but Superbowl teams are a very small sample. If one broadens out the discussion, there are more examples. How about the 22 Huskies that fell short of the Pac-12 title but came back stronger and closer to win it undefeated and fell short of the national title by just one game that they were...

    OL Coach Scott Huff (UW)

Yes, I'll admit to similar thoughts. More than DeBoer, I hope every college football fan, player and coach comes to a consensus that DeBoar left a place where he could have had it all for a mirage that led nowhere.

    Geno Trade Value?

We don't know what was Pete and what was John but there's a lot of circumstantial evidence. We retained the guy I was hoping to retain.

    Geno Trade Value?

Don't know but, at UW, Grubb was OC and coached QBs.

    Geno Trade Value?

I'm sure he didn't say that. I'm also thinking he's likely not obsessed with our record this year. I'm sure he, the coaches and players have no interest in deliberately tanking but I think they have the patience to do what needs to be done to build long term even in that results in us stepping...

Who has watched every Super Bowl?

The guy I remember most from football and boxing is Howard Cosell. Also, how he played himself in the Woody Allen film "Bananas" and on episodes of the TV sitcom "The Odd Couple". That distinctive New York voice and delivery. His quasi-intellectual style at times and how he also loved to ham it up.

Who has watched every Super Bowl?

I probably have but can't be sure. I am 60. Will be 61 in April. My father watched when I was a kid and so I was probably there in the late 60s, watching those games with him. I have memories back to age 3 and remember watching football on a black and white set with my dad in our apartment. I...

    OL Coach Scott Huff (UW)

Hope it's announced tomorrow. Getting Grub and Huff together would be huge. More then the sum of its parts because they've worked together for two years.

Hard to say. Team's respond in different ways. Some stick together and win it the next year.

Well, my friend, they're crying tonight. Hopefully not my 32 year old son but you know . . .

    Shefter: Grubb the new OC

Hope you're right. Guess we'll know soon. I'd imagine tomorrow if that's the issue.

I see sports rivalries as a quasi-tribal thing. We choose our tribes and then get caught up in prehistorical genetic programming. At its most extreme, it allows war and other real fights over limited resources. It must begin with dehumanization. If one thinks about the children who will be sad...

My sources confirm Grubb will be hired as OC(RUMOR)

I'm hoping for a pass-heavy strategy. Take what the defense gives of course but use the run to keep the defense honest while scheming It'll be balanced. I don't see Grubb favoring the run but being smart, taking what the D gives, using the run game to set up the pass.

Huff was the O line coach. Hopefully they both get announced soon.

Really? The last time Juszczyk touched the ball was, I think, a hand off from Steve Young. Having said that, my son is a Google software engineer in Mountain View so, family solidarity and all, I'll be rooting for those d*cks . . . I mean *ucks. (Well, at least, thank God, it's not the Ducks.)

    Shefter: Grubb the new OC

Ground and pound is antiquated. The game has changed so much. There was a time when a great running back was a key to success, second only to having a great QB. Those days are long gone. Receivers used to be sitting ducks who would take a pounding. Now they can barely be touched so the passing...

Thank you. What a fascinating article. The thing about Luck is he's brilliant and intellectual. In my experience, the most brilliant people I've known have struggled with similar existential issues and crises. One friend, probably the smartest person I've ever known, was an attorney with gobs of...

    Geno Trade Value?

My friends, why do we argue over stuff like this. We have no control over anything and before long it will all play out right in front of us. We can share our ideas of what we think will go down without discord. I personally think there's no way we'll get anything close to a second rounder for...
