If there's a position that's harder to project into the NFL than QB, it's kicker. It's such a specialty. So few scouts have a clue how to analyze one. Doesn't help that the sample size of their work product is so small. Nor that the most important quality that the great ones have can't really be...

    Trade thought

Ok, got it. Depending on how the draft unfolds, I might want him to trade back. I'm not seeing a huge drop-off after the best 10 to 12 or so guys come off the board. Someone would have to fall to us, in my view, to be worth staying put. But since guys inexplicably drop every draft, who knows.

Can't really blame the Bills on that one. Who saw that coming?

What are you referring to as "WRONG!"??

    Geno Restructure?

I doubt his job would be at risk with a down year or two. Jody's not that kind of owner.

    Geno Restructure?

Then they're never gonna be any damn good.

    Geno Restructure?

I see this as a good thing only if the Hawks trade Geno and now get a higher pick. Perhaps a second instead of a fourth. But it's sounding more like the kind of move we've come to know and loathe under Carroll/Schneider. Short sighted and myopic. Putting all the chips on the table for this year...

    Trade thought

Seems the obvious move. Unless someone slips to 16 who seems too good to pass up. If by some miracle Bowers were there, I'd want John to take him. If there's a way to trade some veterans for draft capital and we received good value, I'd support it. The only one I'd think should be off limits is...

Hawks expected to release Jamal Adams? (Click Bait)

I'm mostly in agreement. I'd stop short of the harsh judgment. Marshall Rosenberg, the genius who created a peacemaking technique called Non-Violent Communication or NVC, said that "judgement is a tragic expression of unmet needs". When I notice myself feeling judgmental toward someone or...

Hawks expected to release Jamal Adams? (Click Bait)

So true. I'm hoping against hope that Schneider won't overpay on his own. I have a sense that he has an eye for value. I also have a sense that he wants to please the people he works with, sometimes to a fault. Carroll had ultimate authority so that may have been a factor too. I think two...

Hawks expected to release Jamal Adams? (Click Bait)

No one is "just an ass". In Jamal, I see an extremely defensive man. One who lacks the kind of core necessary to know that he's alright, regardless of whether he can play football skillfully. The reporter questioned his coverage skills and it cut him to the bone. That doesn't happen when people...

    Seahawks Coaching Staff Tracking Thread

I'm right there with you. I'll only speak for myself but I have no problem with any record this coming season. I'm thrilled that Carroll's gone. It feels like we're finally moving in the right direction and if there are growing pains, well heck, maybe that means we're growing.

Are you perceiving some of your coaches to be less than stellar, CC? They seem fine to me but you may know more than I.

    Who will the Seahawks cut?

Yes, if he's interested in coaching.

    Who will the Seahawks cut?

I'm with you in thinking the talent level wasn't as stellar as a lot of fans seem to think. Part of the problem, in my view, is poor allocation of cap space and my sense is a lot of that was Pete. He was the one who threw so much money and draft capital at the safety position. He's the one who...

    Who will the Seahawks cut?

Blocking is not Fant's strength. Dissley's a better blocker.

    Trade thought

You may be right and Schneider may have misperceived his value on the market. I was hoping they would cut him before Friday because I can't imagine his trade value is much and I don't see him as worth what his contract requires.

    Who will the Seahawks cut?

I get so tired of statistics. I find them so overused and overinterpreted. Fant looked obviously way more talented and effective. Dissley, as a rookie, caught a lot of passes. But after the first injury, he was no longer able to get the same kind of separation. Fant's speed, size and elusiveness...

    Who will the Seahawks cut?

I think is significantly better. He's fast and elusive. Catches well. He'll be more expensive than Dissley but might be worth it. I'd take the $7M in relief by cutting Dissley and plow it into Fant if we can sign him without breaking the bank. If it cost $11M per year, so we have to come up with...

    Who will the Seahawks cut?

I could see keeping him around on a veteran minimum contract for his locker room presence alone. But I don't know if the coaches would be willing to use a roster spot. I wonder if he'd come back in a non-roster capacity.
