    PC for President!

So I just watched PC's latest (Thursday 10/25/13) press conference over on that other site. It's a bit long, but man, the guy just strikes me as genuine. Sure, he holds some cards close to his hoody, but I think he means what he says. He really does have a plan, and I'm impressed. I've said...

    #21, #24, #32, #25, #27, #5, #6, #31, #21, #24

Those are the current power rankings of the teams we play the rest of the year (according to Billick at http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/powerRankings). Average: 21.6. Although three of the next five games are on the road, I still can't see us losing more than two of the next five -- meaning we...

    James Carpenter

OK, I will admit I failed coaching 101. Why does it make a difference? You get two timeouts for the price of one in either case: either 2-minute warning + called timeout, or called timeout + 2-minute warning. Does the latter confer an advantage in game time or in non-game (coaching) time?

Petes Monday Presser ON NOW !!!!!! (link)

Yeah, Pete's making me miss Holmy a bit less. (Holmy gave great press conferences too.) I loved Pete's discussion of the first couple of years at USC.

    Tomorrow Could Be Historic?

If you are correct, a win in Houston would be historic and terrific!

Question about a couple calls in the JAX game

Hey, I'm just happy the refs kept the hankies in their pockets for the most part. I think avoiding Mike Carey - type games benefits us.

    Throwing Deep

Ditto. I wonder if Pete and Bevell are evil geniuses though. As others have pointed out, going run/short/mid the first three quarters may have lulled the Panthers' weak secondary into complacence. I mean, it was all Dougie / Tate for three quarters and then, boom, a go route to Williams and...

6 reasons why the Hawks will win the superbowl

High expectations? How about the mid-90s Sonics? Payton and Kemp were awesome. They toyed with lesser teams ... Payton would get a steal, wheel down the court with Kemp leading and alley-oop it to Kemp for some sort of ridiculous jam. Those were some great times, man. Kevin Calabro was so fun to...

Per Schefter: Teams monitoring hawks cuts closely

I've always wondered why teams spend a roster spot on the long snapper. I mean, I know having a crappy long snapper is doom and despair and all that (something we 'Hawks fans have actually experienced), but ... ... Why aren't there guys who are good long snappers and decent backup OL guys? It...

    Penalties ... another perspective

I should also point out that these rankings are for "penalties per game". If you look at "penalty yards per game", the most-penalized was Baltimore at just under 70 yards per game. Which makes tonight's 180 yards of penalties assessed against the 'Hawks just flat out stupid.

    Penalties ... another perspective

[The guys on the 710 postgame show mentioned something like this.] According to http://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/penalties-per-game , the eight most-penalized teams in 2012 were: St. Louis Baltimore Dallas Cleveland Washington Oakland SF Seattle (St. Louis was the...

    Preseason message

True -- and there were other games last year that we won in a similar fashion. But I'm coming to realize that that's what makes this team great. We can score quickly; we can score defensively; we can score on special teams. I don't think this is an accident at all. It means, among other things...

    Weaknesses....

Nice. I agree with all except #2. If our pass-blocking were a total sieve, even RW would have trouble. But it's not. I don't see any way that it's a "weakness". It may not be great, but it's good enough to allow Wilson enough time to make good decisions. That's really all that matters.

    Analysts/Reporters/Talking Heads Hawks Fans Like

I agree that Brock is underrated. He does a great job explaining the Xs and Os. But he's best in small doses. It's hard to listen to him for more than an hour.

    Josh Portis waived

Dude, you can't keep coming on here saying reasonable things. I mean, you're a niner fan. I'm pretty certain we have rules against this.
