Missing the playoffs with 10 wins

Goodell is just a meat shield for the owners. That's why he gets paid so much. It works. Fans direct all their rage at him.

    New OC options

QBs make checks when they see a look that OC has setup the check for. If Geno was making checks that were going against the OCs wishes, we'd hear about it. There would be leaks and speculation all over the place. He doesn't have nearly enough equity to pull that off or even attempt it, specially...

Best landing spot for Pete Carroll?

Their biggest problem is a QB that can't pass the ball in clear passing situations. Lucky for them that roster is good enough to avoid those situations until deep in the playoffs

What would it take: Burrow or Lawrence

I think you hit the nail on the head there. There's no logical reason to hate your team's QB from the beginning unless you resent how he got there. It had to sting when they chose Pete and Russ flamed out. Now that they're both gone, Geno and JS are the only remnants of that losing battle.

    Bo Nix

I expect all young QBs average at best until they prove they can move the ball consistently when forced to drop back and carry the load when inevitably defenses force them to. It usually comes in year 2. A lot of guys get away with using their legs early to compensate for their shortcomings...

Fairly good summary/state of the union article.

Why do you care his supporters change their minds? They have as much say in the matter as everyone else here, ZERO.

Poll: The Biggest Problem On Offense Is…

They check into or call audibles, yes. Implement, no. QBs get instructions every week on when to check and to what the audibles are. They will get graded weekly on whether they made the correct decisions concerning audibles. That evaluation will never include what personnel grouping was in at...

    "Highlights"

Half of these fans would rather score 35 and lose than win 6-3. The defense giving up 36+ wouldn't even register. It's all about flashy fantasy stats and the endorphin rush they get seeing their team on highlight shows. The team could go 7-10 every year and they would be satisfied if the offense...

Poll: The Biggest Problem On Offense Is…

Audibles are preset, by the OC, depending on the look the D gives. They do not, however, have caveats for personnel. Personnel and formations aren't part of the QBs responsibilities. If the D gives you the look that the coaches setup the specific audible for, you check into it. You don't have...

    Home field advantage

They don't even have to win necessarily. It all hinges on how good the defense is. The crowd gets loud on D. If the D shits the bed early and get stops, the fans lose their juice. At some point you lose trust in the defense and decide it's not worth being loud if they're just gonna give up...
