Atlanta was openly known to be a lucky team taking advantage of an easy schedule all season. Then all of a sudden they whoop the Giants and everyone shuts up. They're the #1 seed, but there's no other team left in the playoffs that I'd feel as confident in facing. Maybe I'm naiive but the...
Griffin didn't run out of bounds and took a big hit that may have cost them the game. Wilson is a lot shiftier than Griffin, if you're expecting the same type of quarterback play, you're in for a surprise.
My bold predictions:
Broncos
Green Bay
Seahawks 55-0
Seahawks then fly to Foxborough and make history by beating both the Patriots and the Texans. Other teams forfeit out of fear. We win Superbowl by default and Russell Wilson is declared Mr. Universe unanimously.
There's a piece on Irvin over at .com. I didn't realize he was born in Atlanta! This is a sort of home coming for him and his family and friends will be there or be watching (obviously they will be watching). This should be added motivation, not that he'll need it.
Gus Bradley was on the KJR this morning talking about game planning for Atlanta. Mentioned their weapons and was asked about covering Gonzalez up the middle. He said something like "we are going to have to mix it up." Here's the link
I agree. ET is gonna have at least 1 pick, I'd bet on it. In fact, I think by half we'll have put our foot on their throats and have a 14 point lead. Our offense will explode this game and Atlanta won't be able to keep up.
