I think you express a popular, but flawed opinion on the board that undervalues Collins and overvalues others. Counting all of last season and this preseason, Collins has caught 19 of 20 targets (with one uncatchable) for a high percentage of FDs. but that doesn't seem to count in his favor...

All our RBs have been stuffed or lost yards on plays that were not well blocked this PS. IMO, only Rawls and Prosise have the physical skills needed to avoid serious penetration, or create on their own when nothing is there. They are also the two most likley to lose yards in the attempt, or be...

I've had similar thoughts. Lacy, Rawls, Prosise. I think there is a 10% chance we keep all 3, and a 10% we lose all 3. Most likely, we will lose one or two of them. It might not work out that way at all, but using history as a guide, this is the best prediction I can come up with: Lacy and...

Interesting that you'd compare our RBs to financial investments. I see Prosise as exactly the kind of high risk, high reward investment that has caused many an investor to fling themselves off high rooftops. Not that I don't understand the enticement, I do. But here's a guy that has never been...

I'm using all available data, and yes, took the opportunity to use someone else' words rather than my own, someone who should be in a better position to make such comments. "incredible catch even for a WR." Not at all, I sharpening the focus on what the truth is. You said "dropped" twice now...

great game he had, agreed. The last regular season game of the year, when all the other RBs were out except Collins and Rawls. Collins averaged 8 yards a carry, Rawls averaged 1.8 Maybe not the huge "game changing" ability you are talking about, but it made a difference in a game we won by 2...

Fair comeback, but that's a pretty small sample for both, and not hugely different in avg. , while showing mostly the short yardage work AC got earlier in the year. If you just look at the last 4 games of the year, CJ was unavailable, and AC averaged 5 yards a carry, CJ averaged 5.7 for the 6...

while I certainly understand that point, I'd still value everyday, quality production over occasional hyper production. I'd rather have a 3rd down back who averages 3 first downs a week, than a 3rd down back who produces one highlight play every six months, and not much else. As you say, CJ...

I never compared CJ to PH. My point is AC can do the fundamental work of a 3rd down back as well or better than CJ, he has been showing us he can. So why keep CJ when he is clearly not as durable as AC? I was agreeing with Nate's point that they had a big plan to evaluate CJ, different than...

What would you rather have from your 3rd down back? The ability to score a long TD once, maybe twice a season? Or consistently be available to help move the chains, series after series, game after game? It seems to be bending logic pretty hard to say the former. Championship teams need star...

There has to be a point though, agree? I get it with Rawls, he has at least proven he can be good for a 4-5 game stretch. I don't get how Prosise has earned protected status though, and never has to show anything.

Well, they've already got McFadden, so they've got their Razorback, plus I really don't like the 'Boys I'd prefer to see AC follow after Bobby Joe Edmonds, Ken Hamlin and others, and be a great SeaHawg!. :) One of my music vids, You Can't Reason with a Razorback...

I think the picture is clearer, but by no means resolved. I can't find a compelling reason to keep Prosise over Collins as the 3rd down back. Clearly the coaches have been evaluating AC as the 3rd down back heavily. He's been targeted 3 times more than anyone other RB in PS, 8 targets, 7...

    Understanding the relevance isn't that great, here are the numbers: Rushing: A. Collins 10 for 58 M. Davis 6 for 37 C. Carson 6 for 27 E. Lacy 6 for 20 Receiving: A. Collins 4 for 35 M. Davis 1 for 22 C...

In large part, it's just the opportunities, when he gets his share, he does pretty good. It was interesting Davis and Collins both looked bad running when Boykin went out, and both instantly looked good again when Boykin came back in. Cannot argue after that fumble. The only point really...

My RB assessment after two games. Lacy: By far the best power back we have, quite valuable because of that, otherwise looked slower than expected. Looks like a 20 yard run would be quite an accomplishment for him. Still, he looks like a back who can handle his part on long sustained drives...

May be Collins only chance if they give up on Prosise. Collins looks great in the passing game, CJ may only be a better deep threat than AC in that department, but CJ's not better as a 3rd back at all if he's never available.
