    I agree with all of this. At this point in his career, given the things you listed, make it him a bad long term investment especially if you they have to do it at market value. If they can agree to a shorter less expensive deal then I can see value in it.

    Yep, they end up with guys who really can't do any one thing at a high level. It's necessary that a couple of the backups are versatile, but they take it too far. Sometimes I feel like it's a sign they don't know what the hell they are doing. Jack of all trades master of none.
