Summer talk : Joey Hunt’s potential and issues

I can't see him making the team.

Linebacker Camilo Eifler transferring from UW

Is that what was happening in this thread? I must've missed it. The point stands; I guarantee Saban has done and said much worse to his players than has been said in this thread. It doesn't make sense to wait until an athlete is a professional before he can be criticized, going straight from...

Summer talk: Tanner McEvoy’s potential and issues

Where did I say anything to imply expectations or hostility to skepticism? All I said is that one shouldn't be sure the other way. You list 3 college WRs drafted in the 4th round and act like McEvoy was starting at the same place. The NFL is littered with productive players who were a long way...

Linebacker Camilo Eifler transferring from UW

If this thread is an indicator, you have a ridiculous standard for what constitutes an over the line personal attack.

Summer talk: Tanner McEvoy’s potential and issues

That's for sure. At least it gets talked about with OL, then forgotten or ignored a bunch. A lot of people seem to really expect WRs to hit the ground running.

Summer talk: Tanner McEvoy’s potential and issues

I'm baffled that anyone can feel certain in saying that him not showing it yet means he won't. We as fans seem to really overlook the development timeframe of receivers across the board.

    NFL Changes wishlist

Absolutely an issue that the helmet is used as a weapon or at least an aggressive shield. No way should it be common for a ball-carrier to use his head to protect the ball. The equipment change I'd like to see is getting rid of the hard outer shell on the shoulder pads.

Summer talk: Odhiambo’s potential and issues.

That play illustrated one of the most baffling things about Cable. For all the talk about valuing versatility, he was insanely tied to types even between right and left guard and did nothing to develop versatility. In a playoff game, one injury to a rookie was all it took to see another rookie...

NFL.com takes a crack at projecting the starters

I think it makes sense to just consider a "starting 12 or 13" instead of trying to decide which position to consider in the 11.

    NFL Changes wishlist

The practice squad does nothing to take away the reason for inactive players on the roster. Just too much difference if a team loses more roster-level players than their opponent and teams would have to decide between playing shorthanded or risk losing a player. Healthy inactives is way easier...

    NFL Changes wishlist

I like it, except I think a more modest increase in practice time along with expanding the rosters would be better. QB and OL just need the spots and the chance to stay with the same team while they develop.

Nick Vannett too tall for Schottenheimer ??

    Thanks for resharing that.

Nick Vannett too tall for Schottenheimer ??

I'm talking really more about sticking to a height preference, along with preferences in offensive style and playcalls. I have no problem with being down on Vannett if he's not good enough, though it's pretty tough to know that yet.

Nick Vannett too tall for Schottenheimer ??

I hope he's actually more open-minded and flexible than that. Willingness to adapt is what makes offenses capable of succeeding against more opponents and being more reliable.

    The Ethan Pocic Transformation

My plan would have included going into the draft without Cable, but assuming that still wasn't happening yet, I would have preferred one less trade down earlier to take Cam Robinson at 34. Either way, I'd probably have gone with Jordan Willis at 58. The list of OL I liked better than Pocic...

    The Ethan Pocic Transformation

This, except I'd put him low on the list of how much the coaching change will help.

    The Ethan Pocic Transformation

The only one close is McDowell, and he was at least a swing for the fences. It was a risk that didn't pay off, but not like it was really beyond the risk continually made in guys like Big Ben and Gronk, who have been as reckless at ages when their maturity should be much stronger.

CBS Sports names Rasheem Green 'instant impact' rookie.

I'd like to see him start off focusing almost completely on DE and building his body accordingly. I think I made a wrong assumption, as he was listed at 280 as a HS recruit so I figured interior player. At this point, I think he should aim at getting lean and explosive and let the interior...

    The Ethan Pocic Transformation

I guess I'm still in the minority. He's the one guy I hope isn't the choice and my least favorite draft pick of recent years.

    JD McKissic

I think he's decent, but this fan base has overrated him a bit. He has to hope Procise is unavailable.
