    Lack of energy,,,,

There should be no worries at this point. I have been watching numerous week 1 pre-season games (no life for me) and every team looks equally sloppy. Most of these games come down to a penalty here or a drop there etc. Training camp practices + little to no game plan + numerous starters not...

Browns claim OL Michael Bowie off waivers.

IIRC, only the top 51 salaries count against the cap. If his salary while on IR was one of the top 51, then yes it would could against the cap. Otherwise his salary would not. That is how it is possible to "red shirt" young guys with "injuries"

Seahawks schedule analysis (not a whine post)

It appears the 10 am demons were exercised last year, but still, the Ram and Panther games could be FOX national games and may be played at 4 est. I try not to analyse the schedule too much with injuries etc. two years ago I would bet others had us circled as an automatic win.

    Replacing Tate, Bryant and McDonald

I would assume the front office isn't too worried about losing Red, they didn't even ask him to restructure! McDonald had a very good year, but remember, he was cut to start the season. Tate will be misses mostly as a punt returner.

Seahawks making “considerable progress” on Sherman deal

do not look at the average per year, look at the guaranteed money, that is all that matters.

    Offensive Line?

Might be slow playing the OL free agents. None of them are moving very quickly after the big names. Maybe a couple will be picked up next week for a greatly reduced rate.

    Absolutely love what's going on!

I also feel okay with what is going on. Red & Clem were no longer starters + there are a number of guys who look like they are ready to step up in those spots. Especially the 5-tech (if the defense continues to be played that way). McDonald had one good year, after being cut in pre-season...

    Everything is going as planned

Don't forget, there should be an increase in cap space due to dead money going "off the books". I know there will always be some, but this may get us closer (maybe farther) to the 35 mil mark. Also the possible extensions of ET, Okung etc that may help the cap # as well. I could also see...

I really HATE the salary cap.

Nothing to worry about. It's best to lose a player or get rid of a player a year or two early rather than the opposite. I know there was no salary cap in baseball, but remember the aging Mariners of Edgar, Buhner, Olerud, Wilson, Boone. Those guys all got old at once and look at where it left...

'Hawks officially release Sidney Rice & Big Red Bryant

He probably has a number from Seattle, he will test the market and if he can get more he will. Otherwise, I would expect him back.

'Hawks officially release Sidney Rice & Big Red Bryant

Yep. took a guess. I didn't actually calculate the number of snaps/game. But 20 or 30 snaps a game is not enough for the amount of $$$ he is being paid. Red is pretty much a liability vs. the pass, and the league, outside of the NFC west, is a spread-passing league. He is more valuable in...

'Hawks officially release Sidney Rice & Big Red Bryant

Honestly, you think these guys don't know what year this is going to happen when they sign their contract? Red and Sidney will play the FA field, if nothing comes of it, they may be back. Rice probably won't be healthy, and Red has more value to this defense than any other. You cannot pay a...

Our drafts & the potential cap casulties

Hill & Williams: Bryant & probably in a year, Mebane replacements Willson: Miller replacement Michael & Ware: Lynch replacement in a year Harper (didnt work out) Rice replacement Simon CB depth with the potential of losing...

    Pete Carroll vs. Mike Holmgren

Holmgren was a personnel nightmare, remember he was given all the keys to the castle when hired. He took over a team much like the 49er team that Harbaugh inherited. Loads of talent lacking discipline. What did Holgren do with it........ here are some of my favorites Replace QB Jon Kitna...

Can Russel Wilson become an Elite pocket passer?

I think you will see RW progress much like Tom Brady did in his first couple of years. Brady had a much better defense and running game than he has had in the previous few years and has had to produce more. I think as time goes on, you will see this offense open up more, probably because of...

    Cap space questions

I can see the following happening..... Rice restructure or cut--saves around 7 mil Breno & McQuistin not brought back-- saves around 4-5 (guess) Can afford this move with Bowie & Bailey Red & Clem restructured or gone--saves another 10+ Can afford this move esp. if Bennett brought back +...

    How awesome is today!

In those early days, it felt like teams that played in the Super Bowl were truly in a different league. Now we are the different league. Sureal!!!!

As good as this feels right now for all Hawk fans....

Yep, I've been through Patera, McCormick, Knox, Flores, Erickson, Holmgren, Mora, and now Carroll as coaches and some "great" QB's like Mirer, McGwire, Gelbaugh, Huard etc...... Today is so sweet!

    How awesome is today!

Wow, I remember being a young 8-9 year old boy watching the Jack Patera & Knox Seahawks practice in Cheney, then the Erickson and later the Holmgren teams practice in Cheney as an adult. This day always seemed like it would never come. Congrats to the team and to all of you who have Cheered...
