C Mike traded to Dallas for Conditional 7th rounder

I think everyone needs to relax. Can't think of many PC/JS cuts ( and that's what this really is), who b have become great after leaving Seattle.

Who is the best player you expect to be cut?

Lack of reps does not mean a vet is safe. Can also mean they don't want to risk the vet getting hurt, then having to deal with IR/injury settlement since you cannot release an injured player.

Roster projection in my view after tonight/ Not JS/PC

Jackson cannot go on PUP, has to be IR. He has already practiced/played in pre-season

Hawks should impose a deadline w/ Kam

IIRC the Bears didn't know what they had in Duerson either. I doubt we have a pro bowl caliber SS on the roster, but there may be someone that can at least not be a weakness

Hawks should impose a deadline w/ Kam

I've mentioned former Bears safety Todd Bell in a previous post regarding Kam. For those who aren't aware of this situation..... Bell was an all pro SS for the Bears in '84 who decided to hold out in '85 for more money. The Bears called his bluff, let him sit, played an unknown named Dave...

    My preseason 2 cents

I wouldn't worry about the offense yet. There are very few zone read plays ran in the pre-season, very few roll outs etc. Vanilla, Vanilla, Vanilla Once the game counts, the zone read will be back, setting up other plays off the play action. There are formations and plays that have been used...

Kam holding out for more money

Well, we still haven't replaced Ken Easley. But have they really made the SS position a big priority? Don't recall one being drafted since the Boulware reach in 2004. Between Boulware and Kam the Seahawks drafted a total of 0 safeties. Don't remember the last time hearing someone say we...

Kam holding out for more money

Nobody knew who Dave Duerson was until that season. He was a special team guy up to that point. The Rams didn't know what they had in Kurt Warner prior to him getting his shot due to injury, or for that matter, the Pats didn't know what they had in Brady prior to him getting his shot. I'm...

Kam holding out for more money

Kam is great, but the SS position may be the easiest to replace in the secondary, maybe in the entire defense. The Bears let an All-Pro safety, Todd Bell, sit out the entire 1985 season. His backup, Dave Duerson became an all pro that year. Bell never started again for the Bears and was...

Kam holding out for more money

Maybe he took some performance enhancers to get back into shape following surgery and he knows he isn't clean yet, and will report once he is. Was told this by a friend that works in the strength & cond world. Said this used to be fairly common practice around the NFL.

    Cap Casualty speculation

Agree with this, with salary potentially being a tie breaker (at least at the WR spot)

    Cap Casualty speculation

Kearse is the only one that offers any significant savings. He played for around 500K last year so a significant bump if he is on the roster. The team has around 10 mil of dead money this year from Harvin, Miller and Unger. That will all be gone next year which will help. When looking at...

    Cap Casualty speculation

Depending on how the WR situation plays out, I could see Kearse getting cut. If Lockett, Matthews and maybe Norwood continue to develop, Kearse would probably lose out due to $$$$ if nothing else. I would guess if he doesn't come out of camp as a #1 he will be cut.

    Cap Casualty speculation

You do not trade your starting LT to replace them with a "serviceable" replacement. LT is one of the probably three toughest positions to fill. A new, restructured contract may be coming Okung's way, but I don't see anyone on this current roster that fills his position if he was sent packing.

    Attention History Buffs ......

I watched this draft live...... The Colts did draft Elway, but The Rams and Seahawks both traded up with the Rams taking Dickerson and the Seahawks taking Warner. Seattle never did "pass" on Dickerson, he was already gone when Seattle picked.

Which receiver is gone next year?

Sure big catches in both NFCCG's, but also very inconsistent. (Big drop in 49, @ KC, poor plays on the ball that could have saved a int or two in the NFCCG) If the routine plays are made........big plays may not have to be made

    Opening Day Starters

I could see Norwood beating him out. If Kearse is not a starter or at least 3rd WR, it will be difficult for him to stay on the roster. If Norwood, Matthews and Lockett come along like we all hope, there will not be many reps for Kearse. His salary may be a tad too high for someone who is...

    Opening Day Starters

Wouldn't be surprised if Kearse is not a starter or even on the roster by opening day. Also doubt McDaniel is there at DT. Simon, if healthy may be the RCB

    Official Road Trip (Now Official)

I'm in Baltimore right now, have been here for a week, this is a great city. I am planning on coming back for the 'Hawks game. You can be in DC in about an hour by train & Baltimore has some great sights and party spots

The reason Norwood is just a #5 to #2WR

Baldwin isn't winning many jump balls either........don't count out Norwood just yet, he missed most if not all the pre-season and training camp with an injury. He may be the #5 receiver or he may be #3 wait and see. Good thing WR's aren't judged solely on their leaping ability. Steve...
