Lacy should never start. Carson should.

Carson has been a really pleasant surprise, especially today where he managed to make plays out of nothing by getting creative. Lacy should have value as a power back, but we need to get these oline problems sorted out or he'll just be running into a wall. Even Lynch in his prime needed some...

Dean Blandino and Mike Perierra. Absolutely disgusting

While I can't recall Pereira's tenure much, I always thought Blandino was pretty good at admitting when major mistakes were made. Of course in borderline / toss-up cases, they're likely to side with the refs and don't want to throw them under the bus. A bit surprising Fox has both of them...

Shaping up to be a historically bad O-Line

That was the supposed reasoning I heard last year though, and then we went and changed 3/5 of the line purposely (so not including Fant) for this season. I can buy the need for a bit of "retool" year, but this makes it sound like apart from Britt (and I guess we won't really know with Fant)...

Shaping up to be a historically bad O-Line

Granted, the OLine market has been crazy for awhile now, but perhaps there's a reason for that? I don't think there's any easy answers here, but on the whole, our staff simply hasn't done as well as most other teams. I'm not sure to what extent the problem is coaching, evaluation, an...

    Jimmy Graham Sucked Today

It wasn't a good game, but given his body of work, I'm not putting too much stock in one game.

Here we list Tom Cables accomplishments

Perhaps ... Would you want to fire him? Seriously, I don't know to what extent Cable is the problem versus being put in an impossible position, but our coaching / management as a whole has simply failed at solving what's been a problem that is continuously getting worse.

Shaping up to be a historically bad O-Line

Well, Wilson is better than Rodgers at running for his life. There were other problems in the offense, notably Graham played badly and Russel had some bad throws, but both our running backs and wilson had no room / time.

Shaping up to be a historically bad O-Line

I had some optimism going into the season based on coaching comments (perhaps I should stop listening to Pete and Tom's optimism, this isn't the first time it's been misplaced), but more importantly, a decent job in the pre-season. Today made it look like this line could actually be worse than...

Waiver claims & practice squad announcements ......

:irishdrinkers: After 2 seasons mostly on the practice squad, I'd assume he's just happy to have a real shot on an NFL roster. Terrible team, and rookie QB throwing to him, but overall he should at least have a good shot to show what he's capable of.

    Roster is in

I had thought the same thing, although surprisingly Hauschka's career long is actually longer than Walsh's (58 vs 56), and since Walsh entered the league the long each season is basically a wash (Haush slightly better 2 years, Walsh slightly better 2 years, tie one year). I could have sworn...

    Roster cut announcements have begun

If a team thinks he has enough upside though, it might be a good move long-term to burn a roster spot to get him for free and let him develop. The big question is how much does one sub-par pre-season negate everything scouts saw in college, etc to warrant a third round pick?

    Roster is in

Since there's lots of discussion on the cuts in viewtopic.php?f=2&t=138059&start=200, here I'll just say: I'm feeling pretty optimistic about this season. Wilson looks to be in the best physical and mental shape of his career. I don't recall him ever looking so good in pre-season. The o-line...

    Roster cut announcements have begun

I think in a way this is right: the competition was really with McEvoy (or maybe players at another position if they had kept an extra WR), not Darboh. The problem is that unlike most other major sport leagues, the NFL doesn't have the ability to send a recently drafted player to the minors (or...

Carroll suggests Seahawks don't need to upgrade O-line

What free agents (not including other team's rejects)? I agree we shouldn't "blow it up", but that line needs an upgrade in overall skill, experience, and just competition (I feel like we went with Fant basically by default, not necessarily because we felt he was ready). Add 2 solid pieces and...

Haush $$$: Set for free agency

I'd like to see him back, but given last season was a bit of a disappointment, hopefully we can save a bit of money compared to what it would have cost us a year ago.

Tom Cable- its down to 2

It's not that hard to lose credibility: you only get so many chances as a HC. It's highly unlikely Shanahan's stock will drop much by next offseason and there will likely be far better opportunities with better teams and less chaotic ownership situations. While you can always argue "a bird in...

A Significant Development Towards the End of the Season

I'm not sure if the outbursts actually hurt the team on the field (arguably Sherman that one game did), but it's definitely making me embarrassed as a fan to see some of the behavior from a couple guys who should be veteran leaders of this team and are smart enough to know better. As much...

Carroll suggests Seahawks don't need to upgrade O-line

Extremely disappointing. While there's probably some truth that the line should get a bit better just by gaining some experience, we need some personnel upgrades. I'd personally like to see us get a mid-level solid veteran (maybe someone in the 10 millionish range) and also use our first or...

#49ers interview #Seahawks OL coach Tom Cable

That's an interesting point, someone like Shanahan might want to seriously consider holding off until next offseason instead of jumping at the first offer (most coaching vacancies are for teams that disappointing, but the 49ers might be especially unattractive given their management/ownership...

#49ers interview #Seahawks OL coach Tom Cable

From what I've seen online, 49ers fans and writers seem utterly confused what their team is doing here. Hiring a positional coach who's positional group is near worst in the league and who's previous head coaching stint is best remembered for allegedly assaulting one of his assistants doesn't...
