    Big shoutout to Blair Walsh

He makes me far more nervous than Haush ever did, not sure I'll ever feel that comfortable with him when the game's on the line. But hard to argue with the results so far.

No bye week for the O and need to buy D tickets to Hawaii

They put a nice long drive together, converted 3rd downs, and scored in the red-zone against a pretty good defense. I'm going to consider that some level of progress.

No, not a great win...A GREAT WIN!!

I feel pretty good about this win. Seahawks weren't dominant, but it's not like they deserved to lose (both teams got some breaks, game really could have gone either way) and were playing a team on the road that's given them major problems in the past and are looking a lot stronger this year...

Who won the Max Unger/ Jimmy Graham Trade?

I don't like evaluating traded draft picks this way, there were other ways we could have moved up to draft Locket (eg. in theory we could have used the first rounder from this trade to get the high third used for Lockett, get back extra picks for moving down, and save all the other picks we sent...

Anybody know why our game is on CBS?

Ya, cross-flexing was introduced for 2012 (https://www.si.com/nfl/2011/12/15/nfl-rightsdeal). It's been useful for better matchups on Thanksgiving some years since CBS only has 2 games to pick from (since Cowboys and Lions are both NFC teams and have to play at home, only options without...

Why are we so awful in the 1st half?

Specifically, why is the offense so awful in the first half (defense and special teams are fine)? I think it's a mixture of Russ taking some time to find his game, the offensive line getting mildly better throughout the game, and overly conservative play calling early on (eg. trying to...

    McKissic: A Star Is Born

Suddenly glad we held on to him, especially with Procise's injury history. I don't think he is or will be a star, but provides a solid backup option at a few spots.

    When will Pete learn?

You never know. The combination of the replay, how he was carted off the field, and the fact it involved the knee/leg area certainly looks season ending, but until we hear from the team I'll hold out some small sliver of hope it's not.

    When will Pete learn?

But with our line's experience and previous success it's not like they needed the practice :les: I guess tonight you can argue they should have used Lacy to close out the game, but normally you go with your #1 in that scenario, and getting Carson some extra reps doesn't seem like a bad thing...

What does it take to turn this around?

I'm actually feeling more optimistic after today's loss than last week's win. The Hawks faced a stronger opponent on the road in rough conditions and the offense (eventually) actually looked solid. The defensive breakdowns were uncharacteristic and may not have had more to do with the heat...

Fox NFL crew - Tells it like it is.

I hear a lot of comments suggesting we need to run more, and I just don't think that's the way the team is built. This isn't the same offense that won the super-bowl, it's significantly weaker on the line (especially in the run-game) and somewhat weaker at RB and FB. The investments the team...

O-line PFF player grades for week 2

Sounds about right overall: not as bad as last week, but still not good.

    Lets be real here

A lot of the problems today (Wilson's inaccurate passes, the drops, lack of returns, etc) are things I'm confident were just a bad day and not systemic. The offensive line is the concern that I'm not convinced is just going to fix itself in time (although it likely will get a little better). If...

Here we list Tom Cables accomplishments

He still had some decent holes and then pulled off some off the Marshawn magic. For all the complaints at the time, Marshawn actually ran behind some decent lines here (especially in run protection). Would any of us not kill for Okung-Carpenter-Unger-Sweezy-Giacomini (plus Miller blocking at TE...

Here we list Tom Cables accomplishments

It's definitely not a given since your comment was in the context of coaching. It's hard to argue that someone like Sweezy getting a 30 million dollar contract after being developed by Cable is a coaching failure. Now as I said, I'd expect someone with Cable's experience to have a lot more...

Green Bay's DL THAT Good Or Our OL THAT Bad?

Green Bay is generally considered to have above average but not top-end lines on both sides of the ball. Seahawks are considered to have an awesome defensive line and a terrible offensive line. One approach to team-building clearly won out today.

Lacy should never start. Carson should.

Behind one of the better offensive lines in the league. I watched some of that game and he looked good, but wouldn't have done it in Seattle today.

Here we list Tom Cables accomplishments

This is technically true if you mean second contract with the Seahawks. But it's a bit misleading: Okung's first contract was 6 years (although his first year wasn't under Cable). Also multiple players got big money with other teams. The fact they went somewhere else isn't really a coaching...

That was the slap. The punch was an assistant coach.

    Shaq Griffin

Hard to ask for much more from a rookie playing a role he wasn't expected to fill. A couple mistakes, but as a whole played smart, made some nice plays, and looked really good. I really wouldn't be shocked to see Lane return to the nickel and Griffin play opposite Sherm at some point this season.
