    Mebane signs deal with Chargers

I thought he'd be our Wilfork and with us until the end. Well next man up.

    Chris Clemons Visiting the Seahawks

He is not an every-down player who can provide consistent pass rush. I think the jury is still out a bit if he can fill a nickle pass rush role but I agree with most saying that as long as its for vet minimum then there isn't much to hate about this move. .

    Chris Clemons Visiting the Seahawks

Agreed but if he plays only on passing downs and saves all his gas for those situations he may be pretty useful. I agree with whoever mentioned the Raheem Brock role. Basically our pass rush last season was Michael Bennett so anything to buttress that would be welcome to me.

Irvin to Raiders (Clayton—9.25 million per year)

That would have been a 3rd round compensatory draft pick this year.

Frank Clark weight down to 257.

Although I love that as well - I just see a much more glaring need as a LDE on passing downs. I think this keeps Bennett wreaking havoc on the inside on passing downs. I think last year we were fumbling around a bit on whether to keep Bennett inside or outside on passing downs.

Frank Clark weight down to 257.

Lots of weird things being said in this thread. There is zero chance he moves to MLB for many reasons. This is not even a real option. LEO and MLB are just apples and oranges with completely different skill sets. Also, not sure how he is our best rush defender. He wasn't even in on the base...

    Seahawks re-sign Rubin

Good signing as we are thin at that position this off-season.

    Jimmy Graham Injury Question

Yes but the Hawks wouldn't really want to offer the incentive they would have to get it done with this major injury and potential lack of chemistry hanging over their heads as they would either have to extend him or move cash to next season and guarantee some of it. From Graham's perspective...

    Jimmy Graham Injury Question

You can't release him until he is cleared to play. Period. Furthermore, considering he won't be cleared to play until mid-season - he is going to count against the cap next season - no matter what the Hawks would like. May as well make the best of it.

    Jimmy Graham Injury Question

It takes a full year to recover and it isn't an injury which we have a ton of experience rehabbing (compared to ACLs etc) so I think people are conservative in calling his return. I think there is basically a 100% chance he starts on PUP. Also, for those who want to cut him and save cap, we...

Pete Carroll & the Seahawks working on extension - RapSheet

Yeah unless something drastic occurs - I think he is going to coach until Wilson is done kind of like Brady/Belichick though when Brady retires - Belichick might hang around a bit longer just cause of age and the new challenge but I wouldn't be surprised if they retire the same year.

Walter Jones throws shadow on Alexander...

The problem with appreciating Alexander is that his most elite attribute by far was his vision. If you watch many of his runs, they involve excellent cutbacks into holes that were just opening up and he seemingly hit them out of nowhere. However, if there were no holes or he lacked the...

Salary Cap $155.27 Million - Implications for Hawks

https://twitter.com/tompelissero/status/703360940394344449 So it is official - cap will be $13 million more than last year at $155 million. It was originally projected at $152 million - with that extra $3 million mare than expected. There is already lots of free agency talk - but specifically...

Hawks carried over less salary cap money than anyone else

We are now in the elite team echelon of spending capabilities which means we aren't gonna grab too many high profile players, our paid players have to perform and we have to draft well.

I don't think their personalities could be more different though I could see how both of them can come off as unprofessional at points.

Cards sign CFL sack leader Tristan Okpalaugo

Not sure this guy could play LB. Definitely a prototype LEO. Just a standard PC/JS move the way I see it.

    Tax Advantage

I did mention Texas, Florida and Tennessee. Yeah I figured these states have other means of generating income. Tennesee has a luxury tax for each game for each player of $2,500.

    Tax Advantage

I never really thought about this but Seattle is at a huge advantage (with Texas, Florida and Tenessee teams) over other team because of their lack of a state income tax. Despite the fact that there is a sales tax - that won't affect athletes nearly as much as it is a regressive tax...
