    philosophy change?

In 2014 there will be the right business moves. I think the league did us a favor by upping the cap as much as they did. Releasing Red and Rice saved 12 mil, plus we had about 11 to play with. I think we'll be fine keeping the current dominant formula.

    Player Discounts

"Don't hate the player, hate the game" or any other cliche that says there's no reason to lay blame other than this is how the system is now. Easy to simplify what teams do and why they do them. I started seeing this while playing Madden a few years back then I noticed the Green Bay Packers...

Seahawks sign CFL rookie of the year WR Matthews

1227 lbs is a lot of beef. :) I say coach him up and see what he can do. Remember Mike Williams?

    Erstwhile Kingdome chants

Some of us were quoted in this article - I wanted to be sure to give credit to Bill the Beer Man because he was so instrumental in creating that buzz in both the Sonics and the Seahawks venues. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/footb ... -1.1571671

    The Clink vs The KDome

There's a different mindset by the crowd now. Fans that come to the game are expecting to contribute in our new way. The Kingdome was loud, and people were proud of that - but I don't think they embraced it like they do now.

Jimmy Graham "They 'grab and hold as much as you can"

I needed a good laugh today. The obvious "let's stir the pot" threads are actually kind of funny to read. Why would anyone who is not a Seahawks fan come in here and not give the Hawks credit for their defensive philosophy and accomplishments - not only have they had a remarkable defense the...

Can Russel Wilson become an Elite pocket passer?

Thx - and sorry if you're feeling overwhelmed by the Wilson lovers - I am one of them obviously. I just think it is a bit painful to watch the continuous defense of Brees, Manning, Brady, Rodgers as though they are so elite. Recall they do not do things 100% on their own. I think it is a very...

Can Russel Wilson become an Elite pocket passer?

So glad you were able to take that underhand softball lob and knock it out of the park.

    deep crossing routes

I thought Mike Singletary said it well. If you have confidence in your DL and QB pressures, you know with high probability what throws a QB can make (given the amount of time he has to throw). The defensive backs cannot be perfect on every pass attempt, but they certainly can become elite by...

Can Russel Wilson become an Elite pocket passer?

Could you say in reverse that the arguable top 3 QB's (Manning, Rodgers, Brady) would be better than 13-3 with this team? Would they have won the SB with our defense? I personally don't think so. So it depends on when you stick your stake in the ground to label someone elite. If I was going out...

    deep crossing routes

I don't think you can say that the great defenses we are being compared to went 18 deep on their defense. We rotated in 3 guys on the DL, 2 LB's, and 2 DB's - we didn't skip a beat.

Can Russel Wilson become an Elite pocket passer?

Actually, I would add (what I consider to be) a rhetorical question: Is RW clearly our future and potentially the greatest QB this team will see in a long time? Absolutely the answer to this in my mind is yes. We've seen a lot of QB's come and go - and the only one that even had remotely as...

Can Russel Wilson become an Elite pocket passer?

Excellent point and thanks for not going off on me because after re-reading I know I sounded a bit crass. I think I understand that if you could play fantasy football and put RW on the Patriots would they be a playoff team? That's so hard to gauge or estimate. The only true comparative I think...

Can Russel Wilson become an Elite pocket passer?

Sorry - this is just a bit of a narrow argument for me. These points about playing poorly or putting the need to come back on Wilson, then not giving (or giving) credit when they come back is outside the mantra of the team structure. The architects of this team built it in a way that we can have...

Can Russel Wilson become an Elite pocket passer?

The question to ask is not whether he can become an elite pocket passer - although I am sure there is plenty of merit and is a tempting question to answer. I would turn the question upside down and say, out of 31 other teams, which ones think they have it better than we do? Which of them would...

    Thurmond is awful.

Thurmond was lightning in a bottle when we needed him this year (Browner Suspension). Love the guy - economics might not keep him here, but he really is a good DB. The depth on this team is a reason we won this game - fortunately for us, the depth with our DB's is great with or without him.

    Congrats from a Niners fan

It goes to show that we should have the fierce rivalry with all of our NFC West foes, but at the same time we should carry the pride of being in the best division in football. I don't know how Tom Brady and Peyton Manning can feel "as proud" as we do for our win, when all of their divisions...
