Lynch deserves 1st team All Pro honors!

If a team has at least an above-average QB, the team MVP is always, always the QB. But of course Marshawn has been great.

Jim Mora Jr to SAn Fran? Please let this happen

I would love for this to be true, but I don't see it. They just cut ties with a hothead who is hard to get along with; IMO, they're going to hire some nice company man this time around. Mora is not that.

Ndamukong Suh stepped on Rodgers' injured calf

Why the heck is there anyone saying that looks unintentional? Those who acknowledge that it's intentional and then shrug it off, I disagree but I get it. Those who say that doesn't look intentional in the first place...I don't know what the hell they're doing.

Congratulations on the win, division, HFA

Yep. No complaints with how the Rams played yesterday from an ethics standpoint. They're a dirty team playing for a dirty coach, but I think the Lions passed them in the dirtbag power rankings yesterday (if they weren't #1 before yesterday).

    Sterling Sharpe (Hawk related)

Not a big deal. Aside from Prisco (who makes no secret of the fact that he has an axe to grind), these talking heads are often just looking to score some bragging rights with picks like that, or from what Michael Irvin has said, they're even told who to pick on the air sometimes.

Please dispose of the first half.

I hear what you're saying, but against a clearly inferior team like St. Louis, I think that unimaginative play-calling is fine...it's the lowest-variance way to go, and the favorite in a game wants as little variance as possible.

Which Team Proposes The Biggest Challenge To Our RePETE?

God dammit, I was just thinking to myself last night that if we draw Arizona in the divisional round, I was going to pre-harass every member of sports media on Twitter into not saying this very thing. Of course we beat Arizona if they come back in here.

I am sick of Luke Willson

If "can make plays time to time" is the qualification for being above criticism, everything should be sunshine and rainbows after every game, win or lose. Obviously I'm happy when he manages to make a play, and was happy about his plays against Arizona, but what I said to people after that game...

I am sick of Luke Willson

This is correct. I guess people have short memories and Luke bought himself a pass with a chunk of the fanbase by busting out one good game last week, but he's not very good.

I am sick of Luke Willson

...did you last check in a previous year?

Looks like we get the winner of Carolina/Arizona

Of course we want to root for Dallas. Dallas winning means we get Carolina or Arizona, neither of which is a legit playoff team.

Anyway, thanks for an interesting debate, I have to head out to the sports bar now since the Seahawks aren't on locally here. I'm not saying I have absolute certainty that I'm right about this issue, but that's my explanation for why I believe as I do.

Again, even though it's a somewhat abstract concept, with four teams getting byes per year in a system that has been in place for multiple decades, we would have decent information and numbers to plug in to quantify it if there were a real effect. Post hoc anecdotes by players can't possibly be...

I mean of course he's saying this; it's a game we absolutely have to win to attain a significant goal. The topic in question is what to do if we get up huge. (I agree with Absolut though, we're probably not ever getting up that huge in this game, so this debate is all probably for nothing.)

That is the saying, yes. Not sure how it applies to this debate. The point is that if they're going by hindsight, then the point you mentioned (that belief in it will affect their performance) is negated because the belief in it likely didn't exist until after the performance took place, and...

    Resting starters.

This point would be a fair one if players were thinking it during their downtime, but I would suggest that it's far more likely that "loss of momentum" is something decided on after the fact as an explanation rather than something they think during the approach to the game. Which do you think...

It's the type of thing that would be quantifiable to some extent if real, to draw at least a loose correlation...to my knowledge, nothing substantiates it.

Momentum from one game to the next isn't even a real thing, so that obviously doesn't have any place as a consideration. Pete will lift players if a game is totally out of hand (Jacksonville last year, Arizona two years ago), would do it again here I'm sure, but I'm just dubious that this game...

Dez Bryant is just disgustingly good. Ah well.

I would mostly agree outside of Wilson, I'm just too paranoid about playing the dirtiest coach in the game.
