Pur$ey Harvin gets 70k for Hawks Superb Owl Repeat

Think that's a team decision. I would guess that he wouldn't get one.

Star Lotulelei Might Be Out! (Rapoport reporting he is done)

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that even Blitzer doesn't think that the Panthers will dominate. I encourage you to knock over other straw men though.

Kevin Burkhardt, John Lynch, Pam Oliver on @NFLonFOX's call

To your question: of course a person can be extremely intelligent and disagree with me completely. Unless I'm terribly mistaken, Simms didn't win that Super Bowl but in fact watched Jeff Hostetler win it, which is neither here nor there. Athletes can have significant success on the playing...

SI - Ranking the Playoff O-lines...

I mean it's Doug Farrar, I think it's a stretch to say that he isn't paying close attention to Seahawks games.

Kevin Burkhardt, John Lynch, Pam Oliver on @NFLonFOX's call

Phil Simms literally gets paid money to be a stupid human being. I sure wish I could get that gig.

Star Lotulelei Might Be Out! (Rapoport reporting he is done)

He's out for the playoffs with a fractured foot, per Rapoport.

Kevin Burkhardt, John Lynch, Pam Oliver on @NFLonFOX's call

I don't think that Aikman is very good on color, but I've found him to be a lot more professional than most when it comes to avoiding the appearance of bias toward his old team.

Where's The Fevered Pitch in The Northwest?

I agree. Heck, I even saw this last year in an instance that I still give my friend a hard time about. Right after beating the Saints in the divisional round last year, I get a text from my friend saying, "I'm worried about our offense." Dude, we just clinched a spot in the NFC Championship...

Anybody else feeling uneasy about this game?

Nice post Sailor, very well put.

Anybody else feeling uneasy about this game?

Yup. There are rare games where I truly just take a win absolutely for granted and consider there to be zero chance for an upset (Jacksonville last year, Oakland this year even though I admittedly ended up getting tense late in that one)...if a team is above a rating of "completely horrible,"...

Kevin Burkhardt, John Lynch, Pam Oliver on @NFLonFOX's call

Lynch does a good job. This is Fox's better team. It's really CBS that brings ebola to the airwaves, since I'd rather eat a 20-year-old piece of dog crap than listen to Phil Simms drool all over a table for 3+ hours.

Anybody else feeling uneasy about this game?

I dunno. They're not that good. They have enough going for them that if we play really badly there could be problems, but that's true of basically everyone in the league.

Anybody else feeling uneasy about this game?

Bolded is maybe the least true thing that's ever been said on a message board in the history of the universe.

Anybody else feeling uneasy about this game?

I mean, I feel uneasy the same way I feel uneasy that my opponent might hit his miracle card and draw out on me in poker. There are no guarantees in any NFL game. That said, we win this the vast majority of the time, so obviously you don't have to fear it as if a bad result is at all likely.

What play do you think turned the season around?

I agree to some extent, and again my original statement was that punting or going for it were superior to the complete recklessness of sending on the kicking team for a field goal attempt. If you want to say that punting is a superior move to going for it in that spot then I'm inclined to agree.

What play do you think turned the season around?

    Fair, but look at leaguewide percentages on long kicks: 50 yards - 57% 51 yards - 55% 52 yards - 52% 53 yards - 50% 54 yards - 48% 55 yards - 45% 56 yards - 40% 57 yards - 35% 58 yards - 30% Source: http://www.advancedfootballanalytics.co ... calculator Not all 50+-yard FGs are created...

What play do you think turned the season around?

4th and 8 gets converted at a 33% rate leaguewide, where a 58-yard FG is only converted at a 30% rate. So going for it succeeds a bit more often, is less detrimental when it fails (except in the case of a long sack), and leads to an overall higher point expectation for the drive.
