The Tuesday ESPN Seattle we need to run more narrative...

Maelstrom is correct. Defenses took away the deep shots. Counter that with either more rushing attempts to coax a light box or passing short middle. Schotty schemed short middle routes which were open. Russ couldn't hit them, demonstrably so in the playoff game. I understand Schotty...

Film Study: What went wrong against the Rams

What gold did get right is the rams killing our OL with just four was the biggest factor by far.

Film Study: What went wrong against the Rams

I felt he emphasize the predictable backside DK route from trips formation and failed to deal at all with Wilson’s near interceptions to open routes in short/intermediate middle. Wilson’s limitations with the latter has been the story all year as to why we couldn’t beat 2 high looks (like...

Could we have won with Olsen, Collins, or Josh Gordon?

Well unsurprisingly you miss quite a lot. We averaged 4 yards per carry today. Oh “effort”, excellent analysis. The unfalsifiable claim. Wilson not attempting to give the ball away over t middle all game didn’t make the list I see. Running the ball and hitting the middle is how you can...

Pete’s presser- makes us all mad

Kinda does to me as well. Those 2 would be the ones to adjust to defenses.

Jamal Adams played through a torn labrum

I didn’t want to leap to conclusions watching Adams miss tackles and just botching a run fit on the Akers TD being unable to use his leverage but this might explain some of that. Sure glad we got that meaningless win, our seeding really mattered today with a SS struggling in run support. It...

Could we have won with Olsen, Collins, or Josh Gordon?

I don’t think so. Carson was effective but under utilized vs light boxes. Olsen, being a TE, would be mainly schemed in the middle where Wilson was terrifying.

Would you trade Pete Carroll for Sean McVay?

I laughed I admit. Between this and the McRib post further down this thread is delivering

    Wilson's Interception

Eh, no picks off of WR screens all season; no one should have a problem with a play call that gets it out quick to DK. If it doesn’t work, fine, how many plays worked period for is today? RB screen got worked, Wilson was straight terrifying on anything in the middle from the very first drive...

    Mediocrity!

12-4 actually adds a little insult when you get spanked in the wild card by a six seed with an injured QB IMO. It looks like choking. It wasn’t actually choking - this is the team we were last half of the year - but it looks like it

    Still a GREAT season

It was an okay season. Made the playoffs. Getting absolutely humiliated by a division rival with a dinged up QB in the wild card game...I mean it’s all subjective so it’s a bit silly of a convo anyhow but while I could get to “good”, “great” is LOL

Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before...

This was definitely a Pete game plan and vs a dominant ram DL and a question Mark at QB for them it made sense to start by limiting risk. Unfortunately that type of game plan won’t survive losing the turnover battle (indeed it’s designed to limit your own offense as a trade off to limiting...

Hawks vs rams post game thoughts.

This is what I see as well. I went back and watched some sack footage of Russ this year to try to evaluate the “we only call deep shots” claim and what I saw were crossers, hitches, etc all over the place. Teams that were outplaying our OL would blanket those routes, but even when they weren’t...

why the Hawks so successful in the 4th quarter

The 4th quarter thing had been around forever, and more pronounced in the past because we had to go even more conservative in games behind a Cable line. Also, the detriment of going conservative was less with the LOB.

    Jamal Adams injury

If PC is uncertain about him playing in that upcoming game then clearly there is an injury of some magnitude. Perhaps quite small but if Pete, the guy who played his starter in a meaningless 3rd and 4th quarter, is considering keeping him out then that argues against it being insignificant...

PFT: PC unsure whether Jamal Adams can go Saturday

2 seed with fans would have arguably been worth it. Without fans and HFA, not even close, and certainly not past the third quarter. You can’t rest 53 but you can rest the key 5-10. And of course Pete would be blamed for this decision. It’s his to make. He gets credit and blame for...

    Jamal Adams

Pete’s always super honest and realistic at his pressers too right?

    Glad we played to win

Right, resting players for a meaningless game has never been done, it’s just a loser mentality, no upside whatsoever, and let’s sell the franchise. Enjoy your straw man, I’m sure the crowd is awed at you beating up on it
