Jody Allen needs to take control of this team.

Well between you and maelstrom I know which take I’ll go with lol.

.net temp..Where will Russ cook next year?

You make a good point about past chemistry and the effect it had. I think you can more easily move unhappy players at about any position but QB, and that Wilson doesn’t have the malcontent quotient that a Richard Sherman does (or close to it really), but I get where you’re coming from. Cheers.

    Freeing up cap space?

Kam made the box a no go zone, could cover without looking lost (not talking just hands but also spatial awareness and body control with ball in the air), was healthy until the end, and, most importantly, never cost upwards of 16 mil. I might take Adams for Kam money, although the injuries make...

Jody Allen needs to take control of this team.

I see many ways that jody Allen going Godzilla ends up in disaster, and few ways that it ends up in success. Pete and John have their mistakes, but the folks who want to jettison them mystify me as much as anyone who wants Russ gone, although there are far more of the former than the latter.

.net temp..Where will Russ cook next year?

You believe they are more likely to let their franchise QB walk and eat a dead cap hit like what they would face? If they surrender and trade him and have cap issues and presumably don’t get a Wilson level QB in return, they become a losing team. How is that superior than dealing with a...

Russell Wilson has declared war on the Seahawks

And, it’s likely Pete at some point brought up that a commitment to running is the adjustment he prefers to the 2 high safety look as opposed to what we did this year by scheming short routes Wilson can’t or won’t hit. Wilson would have proposed passing our way out if it, presumably. IMO...

    Freeing up cap space?

Yes. I would rather attempt to build a d line that can get home slowing us to keep 7 defenders in coverage. This felt like a gimmick home run swing because we couldn’t find DL help. I share the concern that we will throw good money after bad because we gave up so much. If we do that, pay...

    Silence Is Deafening

I agree Orange, I don't see the magic OL building and team building around a QB, I see a team drafting high that got a QB who uses the short middle better than any other current QB in the league to help out his OL. Also, if TB is the blueprint, they ran the shit out of the ball vs KC and played...

    Every Sack from 2020

AgentDib had a great post a while back about how it’s not true we snap it late all the time. There are some high profile times we do, and those shouldn’t be ignored, but that’s not what is going on a majority of the time. I used to think Russell ignored extra rushers on the edge because he...

    Every Sack from 2020

Well that incongruity can happen if a sizable number of those sacks came on blitzes. OL isn’t, and shouldn’t be, downgraded when a QB isn’t recognizing blitz pre snap and adjusting. Or if an OC isn’t adjusting. Wilson in particular ignores corner blitzes and that leads to flashy insta sacks...

Does anyone else still support Pete?

Late in the season we absolutely did ramp up the hitches, crossers, and outlets as primary reads and Wilson just never liked them. TE seam routes were there as well, and Wilson has hit those in the past but he was just TE averse this season. Schotty wasn’t trying to force it downfield, Wilson...

    Silence Is Deafening

That the narrative on this board during and after the rams game where Carson had 7 YPC in the first half (and we didn’t ride that) was that Pete was too stubborn forcing his desired game plan is a sign to me that the magic WCO theory is just immune to facts. We need to win by running the ball...

    Silence Is Deafening

That’s what I saw. Pete gave Russ and schotty rope this year to throw the ball all over the yard and they kept it up long after running the ball more vs 2 high was the adjustment needed, instead of scheming short middle routes that Russ ignored or executed poorly. Pete’s approach was...

When does Pete's seat start getting hot?

This year wasn’t trying it Russ’s way?

Does anyone else still support Pete?

I would think the way the season turned out would be a strong vindication of Pete’s approach. Once teams took away the deep shots and played zone underneath his OC adjusted to scheme short routes that his QB couldn’t execute, instead of ramping up the rushing attempts (admittedly with Carson...

My Opinion:Russell has a legitimate gripe about OL Personell

And when he was in the MVP race he was living off of deep shots where the OL held up for a long time. Cable OLs often gave Russ no chance but the line hasn’t been like that since cable was fired. I’m not against spending more on OL, far from it, but it won’t make Russ see the short middle...

Can Russ succeed in the short/intermediate passing game?

And speaking of 2020, the times Wilson did use the short middle early on were most prevalent against man underneath coverages because then he feels safe using touch, knowing if he sees a trailer that there won’t be a LB or safety lurking outside his field of vision. Zone under is when his...

    Super Bowl game thread

This OL performance is cable at his worst bad. Lol at the free rushers not getting a hand laid on them. And they still are getting away with some holding because I think the refs don’t want mahomes’s death on their consciences

    Super Bowl game thread

Chiefs needed to run the ball more early and mahomes needed to take what the D was giving early. Now it’s too late and he has to play hero ball against a team selling out to stop the deep stuff.

What is the value in the last second snap?

Bless this post. Enhancing the pre snap read is the obvious advantage. It’s mind boggling anyone would engage in the magical thinking that it’s just our silly inexplicable tendency. I think there maybe a small bit of shortening the game but it’s not primary, and not significant. We do seem to...
