The narrative won't change. The Hawks play an aggressive style that toes the line in regards to the rulebook. You live or die with it but I do think the players adjust based on how close the refs are calling it early in the game.
Annoying how the media is making a big deal out of a missed call that took place at halftime. The kicker still had a chance to make it just at the original spot and missed.
I'm in the same boat. Seems like every game is a coin flip right now.
Good thing is despite this team's struggles they are still first place in their division. We are a spoiled fanbase complaining so much
Geez if we were able to get even one of those missed calls we probably win the game.
Still doesn't excuse the poor offensive execution. Hawks should have put up at least 30 on that defense.
Forgot that he had been drafted by the Hawks back in 2013. I get that Christine Michael was drafted that same year but honestly I think Ware would be a much a better fit for this offense now.
the lack of a decent running game is really hurting us right now. the offense doesn't need to put up a ton of points but at least control the ball a little bit longer. we hardly use any clock on any of our drives.
Penalties aside the defense has been on the field way too much the last couple games. I wasnt shocked the saints were able to put together 6 straight scoring drives in the end. Would have been nice for our offense to step up this time and actually win the time of possession but they just...
I think Sherman could be a good defensive coordinator or head coach some day.
His article on the Tribune describing what its like to be a cornerback is a must read.
We are playing for a Super Bowl and Cleveland is not so we can't afford to be throwing a rookie QB out there.
Even a hobbled Russ gives us a better shot of winning every week than Boykin.
If we had Dallas' O-line than I would say sure throw the rookie in but we don't.
Best bet would be to...
I would think again its more O-line issues than play calling. Dolphins, Rams and even the Cardinals now have elite d-lines and edge pass rushers. It seems like every snap either the pocket collapses immediately or there is a holding penalty that negates any decent gain.
Holding penalties are actually more frequent when rolling out or leaving the pocket. Many of the ticky tack calls from last night came from Wilson leaving the pocket too early.
On a side note I found it hilarious that NBC displayed the PFF ratings below each players pic in its telecast. Just in case people watching didn't already know how bad our offensive line is.
