I just wanted to take a minute to recognize how fortunate we are to be fans of not only a playoff team, but one who is poised to do something special this year and the years to come. Go HAWKS!
USC played Oklahoma and Michigan when they were highly ranked and just demolished them. It was uncanny how well prepared they were for the big game. For better or worse this is how I envision this Sunday.
When Carroll was at USC, 9 times out of 10 he blasted the heck out of his opponent in the bowl games. After watching the team this year, this is what I expect on Sunday.
I thought I saw Jaws lobby for RW for ROTY on First take after week 16. Not sure if he changed his mind after week 17. I suppose it's possible to have a lower ranked QB win ROTY though.
This is a good thing. This is what happens to good teams/organizations. As long as Pete is the coach this will continue. The good thing is the next one in line will be just as good or better. Carroll at USC or Belichick are prime examples.
I'm not saying we don't have a chance, but we're getting a ton of hype based off a throwaway game. The Cardinals are beyond bad. The Chicago game was good, but our defense blew a 3 point lead with 20 seconds left. That was after giving away the game to Miami.
The national media is starting to OVER-hype the team. The Chicago win was good, but we may have been a coin flip away from losing that one, and we are only a few weeks off a loss to Miami. None of our remaining games are gimmies.
