Such a bright future awaits the defensive backfield.

The whole OP is predicated on linear improvement, but the phrase "sophomore slump" exists for a reason. All we have right now are fixed points on a grid, with no way of knowing whether they'll trend up or down. I will concede, though, that Griffin appeared to get much more comfortable after...

Seahawks "interested" in Gus Bradley [Signed w/ SD]

I'm seeing a lot of talk on here about Cable leaving if Gus comes back, but Cable's primary job is still O-line coach. Gus doesn't change that.

How would we use extra cap space?

Why does everyone assume we need a single player to replace those? Even a halfway decent running game would replace half of those TDs, easy, and if linebackers actually respected the run, then they wouldn't all drop into coverage in the red zone, thus opening up opportunities for other...

Seahawks "interested" in Gus Bradley [Signed w/ SD]

I'm torn. I don't think looking backwards is the way to move forward, but this would be an upgrade.

Packers Denied By Seahawks To Interview JS

Wow, did John Schneider just watch his dream job slip through his fingers? How does he feel right now? Think he's happy in Seattle after seeing the door to his dream open and shut?

How would you feel about this starting OL?

And I never liked letting Breno go. Remember when we all thought he was a penalty machine? Ah, youth.

    Question about Kam

Yup. Sorry to treat the players like cattle, but I would expect him to be cut.
  8. WindCityHawk

    Trade Britt?

He's our best linemen, and "average at best" will fetch, what, a fourth round pick? We may as well keep him for that value.

    2018 Cap Position

Wow, sorry Avril. You're probably gone for savings like that (7.5M). Wouldn't be surprised if Earl (8.5M) was traded as well, while his stock is still high. If Avril retires, or takes an injury settlement, do we still save that in cap space?

OL personnel going into next year not that bad?

.net: "Cable is a moron!" Also .net: "Fant will save us!"
  11. WindCityHawk

    Kam and Avril's careers over?

Those contracts could buy some quality linemen.

    Kam and Avril's careers over?

I'm stupid about this stuff, so humor me: if they retired, would we get any comp picks for them? And would they still count against the cap, or would it free up their money?

Clayton says Bevell and Cable will be back

Hey, at least our star basketball player will be back at left tackle next year.

Clayton says Bevell and Cable will be back

I'd say we should go all in then and at least draft a beefy O-linemen in round 1, but the last time they did that we got Ifedi. Yeesh, has the offensive line done anything right under Cable? What do they see in him?
  15. WindCityHawk

Clayton says Bevell and Cable will be back

That's as disappointing as it is expected. I feel worse for the players than I do for us.

    Report: Jimmy Graham

Best for both parties. I only with we could have traded him for better value. Will we get a comp pick for this?
  17. WindCityHawk

    closer than you may think

Could it be as simple as an RB1 and a better kicker?
  18. WindCityHawk

    If it's not Bevell

Good lord. Maybe all we need is a better kicker.
  19. WindCityHawk

    JimmyG or a running game

Can you blame him? He's been misapplied almost his whole time here. Meanwhile New Orleans is back at practice tomorrow.

    I'm Excited About Next Season

I'll be much more excited when I start seeing some changes over the offseason. If we come back with the same crew plus a few rookies, I will be sorely disappointed before we even kick off.
