If drafting for needs two years from now . . .

I would still hope they don't invest anything more than, say, a 5th, maybe a 4th round pick.

If drafting for needs two years from now . . .

I think OL will be a priority, but I don't know if it's as much looking ahead two to three years so much as looking toward next year. Ifedi is probably gone (and even if he isn't, isn't that good). But I do think there is a general lack of depth at that position with Brown getting old. So I...

I was told this was Ifedi's fault....

"his" being Haynes? Haynes got some good press in minicamps, then was hurt. One play, his first play, will hardly be the defining moment. Won't be surprised if he doesn't see the field for the rest of this season though.

I was told this was Ifedi's fault....

I don't think this is as bad as it looks. If the DT doesn't essentially do a stunt, the Haynes gives a solid block. But for some reason the DT does a stunt and Haynes ends up whiffing. But it's not like the DT accomplished anything with the stunt (well, maybe except that by clearing out he...

If drafting for needs two years from now . . .

We tend to focus on current needs when looking at the draft, but JS has shown a foresightedness to look ahead at future needs. This makes sense given that it take rookies a few years to develop. This year, I think the needs along the DL and OL are too pressing and need to be addressed. But IF...

Mike Leach the new HC at Mississippi St.

Definitely a risk there. I think there was a certain ceiling for Leach, which the Cougs might not reach again for a while. Then again, there is the possibility they'll be able to push passed that ceiling with somebody else.

    Homer/Lynch > Carson/Penny

At this exact moment, I'd definitely take Homer/Lynch over Carson/Penny. Carson and Penny would get crushed out there if they tried to play on their injuries.

Wyman’s Football 101: Defending Seahawks DE Clowney’s hit

Doesn't look like it does. The next set of offensive plays after the hit look look like Doug is in.

Wyman’s Football 101: Defending Seahawks DE Clowney’s hit

I don't know about full game, but there are usually pretty complete shortened versions of the game on youtube where they cut out all the crap and just focus on the plays. They do skip some plays though. I watched this. Going back over it now to see if it shows the plays after the hit...

Wyman’s Football 101: Defending Seahawks DE Clowney’s hit

Wow. I didn't watch the game live. I didn't realize Carson was in the game for so long after the hit. I did think it was weird they never seemed to say he was out with a concussion, but rather kept saying "head injury".

Clowney did NOT get fined for his hit on Nick Foles

There is no way he's not getting fined. Too much media hype around it.

    Panthers hire coach

I'd heard his name a few times but didn't actually realize who he was until today. From a career development perspective, I think he would have been better served going to a name big college program to see if he could do it again at a high level. Then see what doors are open. A jump from...

ESPN: Giants finalizing deal to hire Joe Judge from the Pats

Don't forget they are also eyeing Garrett for OC. This is all kinds of stupid.

Is Free Safety the key to it all

If we just concentrate on the "Boom" part of the Legion of Boom, you'd have to look at Kam for setting the tone and providing the Boom. But having a good FS who lets everybody else play aggressively is important for the system.

ESPN: Giants finalizing deal to hire Joe Judge from the Pats

Maybe I'll be wrong and this will work really well, but seriously, WTF? https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/284 ... head-coach

Prisco and Greenberg 0-4 Last week

I went 1-3 myself. Only the Hawks bailed me out. 0-4 is pretty bad though. Aren't these guys getting paid for their supposed knowledge?

Aros' Fearless Playoff Prediction Thread (Hawks @ Packers)

I'm not certain of victory, as the Hawks are certainly capable of coming out and laying a stinker, but I am always quite unimpressed with the Packers. I think the 9ers matchup would give the Hawks a chance because of divisional familiarity and both games have been close this year. The Packers...

Seahawks In Divisional Round 7 of Last 10 Seasons

I was thinking about this yesterday. Truly impressive. Only lost in the first round once. There are probably 29 other teams that would kill for this kind of consistency (not the Patriots, obviously, and the Stealers have been pretty impressive too).
