    Bryant still not wrapping up

Big hits also lead to big misses later.

    Bryant still not wrapping up

Half our dbs do this. Annoying because it isn't needed and results in missed tackles

    Defense

I'm getting tired of our dbs flying to the ball. Especially Spoon who keeps leaving his feet to make a tackle or deliver a hit. Slow down, stop making big hits and you won't miss so many tackles. Our guys keep taking bad angles too.

At Week 6, which team looks most SB-destined?

Chiefs. I used to like watching them play but this year, I just turn them off when they are on TV now, no point because the NFL just rigs games to make sure they win. I suspect they are trying to create another 72 Dolphins fervor but nobody is fooled. The NFL is going to ramrod the Chiefs into...

    Lions vs Cowboys

Lions have no shot. Even w a healthy Hutch. Without him? Forget it. Their secondary is a sieve and they get away with lots of holding or PI to compensate. Those will become flags against NFL darlings in the playoffs. I like Hutch and I love their coach. But they were never going to the SB

    Hallmarks of a bad coach

That was my feeling/fear too. It might be a few years, if not more, before the Huskies are relevant again. His team seems to have many of the issues listed.

    Hallmarks of a bad coach

    1. Excessive penalties 2. Poor redzone scoring production 3. Poor 3rd down conversion % 4. Subpar clock management 5. Blames players for poorly implemented strategy and tactics (ie bad playcalling) 6. Teams seem to make mistakes constantly that derail successes 7. Teams seem poorly prepared 8...

Anyone feel like the dawgs are going to feast on the Big ten?

Yep. Everyone outside of Michigan and Washington knew the wheels have come off Michigan this year. That was BEFORE the UW game. It is a nice win, at home. But it does nothing to convince me that our HC is anything but a middle-tier (if that) coach. Hopefully he can recruit, because we effing...

    Who would you keep?

If I could get a new DC, I would keep our entire secondary., I would also keep all our WRs (including Metcalf and Lockett) and TEs. (I don't have the problem with the OC that most Hawk fans seem to have, since it is clear he keep us in trackmeets or shootouts to have a chance at winning games...

Mariners lose division for 23rd straight year

We were literally told the Mariners' goal is to miss the playoffs as much as possible while still keeping attendance up. They are succeeding wildly, beyond any of my expectations.

Does Ryan Grubb got what it takes?

I find it odd that one of the few things that isn't a flaming dumpster fire on this team...is what we are complaining about. We pass more, because passing more makes sense with this roster. (Even with this OL). Worse, we have little choice. Playing a ground control game that eats clock and...

What did you expect this year?

It's funny. I expected our defense to improve but our offense to struggle. I expected the secondary to be solid to exceptional, but our passing to regress. Instead our defense is struggling, our secondary is now our biggest weakness (along with LB and OL), and somehow our offense is putting up...

    Mike and his Run D

Your reach exceeds your grasp. Guys are selling out to rush the QB but they are not controlled. Which means the QBs easily evade them and they cannot recover. Also our entire defense takes terrible angles regularly, which exacerbates the issue above.

Just how pass-happy is this offense?

Passing downs are, by the numbers, 3x more valuable than run downs. Also winning teams, WITH a balanced offense, generally pass more than run for most of the game. But the reality is you win football games by winning matchups. We passed more against the Giants because our receivers should have...

I was told we hired a defensive coach guru?

Or maybe the Ravens HC was great at defense, sort of how everyone thought DCs under Carroll were great DCs when it was really Pete. Or how we hired that guy from the Rams because we thought he was a great OC when really Sean McVay was the reason that offense was thriving. (Don't the Bears have...

    LB play is fundamentally terrible

And weirdly, as bad as our LBs are....they are nowhere near as bad as our secondary. Even though most of our best players are in our secondary (otherwise they are in our receiving corps).

I was told we hired a defensive coach guru?

His strength is supposedly defense, but he isn't even as good as the crappy DCs we had under Carroll. Weirdly, his strength looks to be offense - but there are some nagging indicators that seem to point to MM being over his head. Not sure MM is going to be much here, but I'd love to be proven...

We are who they thought we are

MM was supposedly great at defense. Weirdly, his team got worse at defense than a Carroll team that was middling on D. So far, we are terrible and only Grubb is making us look better than we are. Even so, Grubb is making mistakes to put us behind the 8 ball. I am very concerned about MM as a...

Stop forcing it to DK assholes

DK should never be catching the ball across the middle. Grubb should know that, but apparently needs to watch more tape on DK to understand this.
  20. T

    Why didn't Metcalf...

DK shouldn't be running those routes. He has a tendency to fumble, remember? He should be our homerun hitter or the guy that takes the top off the defense. He doesn't have the hands to go over the middle and shouldn't be asked to.
