That leaves us only 4 options for the Season opener

Cardinals
Bears
Patriots
Chargers
I think we can scratch the Cards and Chargers. Those are two really wimpy fan bases and I doubt that they want to feature either of them in the season opener.

I also think we can scratch the Pats. IMO the league doesn't want to unzip their fly in Prime Time on national TV by advertising Mike Vrabel and his scandal.

My money is that it will be the Bears.

No doubt, would be really stupid for the league to make it the Pats. Esp. right now. It's gonna' be the Bears. I'll be shocked if it isn't.

Wow! This is like a huge nod from the NFL to giving the Broncos priority treatment. Bo Nix is expected to be back, but Mahommes is not.

2026 NFL schedule release: Chiefs, Broncos to face off in 'Monday Night Football' season premiere

No strangers to opening their season in prime time, the Kansas City Chiefs will welcome the standalone spotlight once more to begin 2026.

This time around, they'll be doing so against the team that snapped their nine-season run as AFC West champions when they take on the Denver Broncos at 8 p.m. ET on Sept. 14 in the season premiere of Monday Night Football, ESPN announced. A location for the game has yet to be finalized.

As Andy Reid and Sean Payton prepare their charges for their season debut, the biggest question marks for each will be at quarterback.

All signs point to Denver quarterback Bo Nix being back from an ankle injury suffered in last season's AFC Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills.

It's going to be the Bears. Why? Because my daughter and her Bears diehard fan boyfriend are going to the game.

And so it is written!

Just saw the rumor that we might be opening up vs the Pat's and man this is the worst mistake. Between the ass beating in the SB then the Mike V situation.

I also think that we'll draw an international game this season, either London vs. the Commanders or Mexico City vs. the Cards.

Heard talk a couple weeks back that Hawks in London vs. Commanders is a real possibility. ROAD game for the Hawks at least.

Marketing, what a better draw then the world champs, and a way to stick it to us for making them have to broadcast the game with us and the Pats instead of McVag and or the 49ers. We tend to piss them off and I am talking the league when we are really good, we are supposed to be South Egypt and keep our Coffee, tossed Fish and fan base out of mind and out of site unless a Legendary team can beat up on us.

If it's the Pats, then I hope Sam has an even better outing offensively than he did in the SB.

He missed two TDs to JSN and one to Shaheed in that game.

Much of that was because of the Pats defense. He was being smart and not forcing thing. He also was forced to get rid of the ball quicker in that game.

Yeah .. i want to take my brother in law (bears fan) to it.. just waiting to see so I can start scouting for tickets. Whether it be from someone here or wherever I just worry about getting bent over the barrel on price.

But it’ll be his first time even in Seattle or the PNW so I’ll try and make it a positive and fun experience for him

What absolute hype!

Half the schedule has already been revealed.

I’m a fan of “we don’t care”. In the end we play who we play where and when the league thinks they’ll get the best ratings. The football itself is secondary to the money.

All in all it just is what it is. Not buying in to the the hype.

In the end the most prime time games will be played by the Freakin’ Cowboys, Jerrah controls the schedule makers it would seem.

Just so I’m clear I truly despise the Cowboys, but hate the Rms, and the 49ers. Those are all must win games. The others are just football teams.

I don’t care who we play and when and where the only W I want to see is for my team.
