Zabel is a very good OL but most teams will hesitate to take him in the first round. Seahawks may have him on their radar but so do the Bucs as a darkhorse pick as well as other teams in the first round and the top of the 2nd round.

Barton and JPJ went higher than most think and I think this is what happens with Zabel as well.

I'm a little higher on Donovan Jackson but can't go wrong with Jackson or Zabel.

Seems like a boom or bust player to me. Super sketchy taking a lower division, inside OL in the first round. Could easily be a multi year project before he’s realizes his potential. Do we want to wait 3 years for that?

18 feels a little high but I wouldn’t be upset if we took him, depends on who’s there when we’re picking. I could see JS moving back a few spots at 18 and then moving up into the top of the 2nd on day 2.

Zabel is ready right now to play either Guard position or Center in the NFL. This kid is NOT a project.

Go watch his tape at the Senior Bowl practices. He stuffed everybody one-on-one... and the reason he got so many of those reps?... the Edge guys were asking for him... 'cause nobody was getting the better of him... and each Edge guys wanted to be the first one to do that.

I am very tempted to get him at #18 and screw all the "criticism" of the networks that they would toss at the Hawks for not taking the pretty-shiny-WR/TE toy at #18 or whatever other draftee they THINK the Hawks should've gotten.

I have a feeling a player that has been considered a high pick is going to fall. I could see Zabel, Banks and my surprise pick being Will Johnson

Imagine if Schneider drafts a WR at #18.

Everyone here rages.

And then Zabel ends up falling to us at 50. OMG.... 😂

What will everyone do when we draft a Safety, or TE? I am surmising that they are leaning for a TE at 18, and they can grab a fast strong and physical Safety at that position... pick one... no OL at 18.... we need a difference maker, and we have no TE

I always hear, we need a difference maker in the first round.

If a player protects the QB and opens running lanes at a high level, isn’t that a difference maker? Players that move the needle and make the unit better come in all forms.

Yeah totally agree. I would say you might see a bit of a difference if you have a peak Steve Hutchinson play LG versus a Laken Tomlinsen.

I could see John drafting Golden at #18. Kupp and Scantling aren't here for the long haul.

And I could also see John trading up into the bottom of Round 1 or into the top of Round 2 to draft Zabel.

That would be a helluva great start to our 2025 draft class. Count me in if it falls that way.

Mid round you draft tilt the filed guy on offense or defense, athletic with an exceptional aspect, a few LT's fit RB's, TE's WR's CB's Safeties LB's DE's or DT's, for a Guard he better be a Unicorn, or Ray Guy.
