He also said Grubb can adapt to his personnel and they talked about using a variety of ways to run the ball. I'm not so sure they'll be pass heavy, he was talking about how UW could still execute the run game in a scheme designed around the players they had.

Define "pass happy." Typical balance these days is around 60/40 - pass/run.

Did you listen to the interview? He gave additional context that they will adjust to the personnel around them, not sure where you are drawing the conclusion that they will necessarily be pass heavy

Here and there
that would mean Geno is gone. You can't depend on him to sling the rock a bunch. He needs a more balanced attack to thrive.
and possibly more evidence Lock is the QB for the short term, having the stronger arm of the two....possibly!

Where do you get "pass heavy" from that. Sounds quite the opposite to me. Even in a pass heavy scheme, he ran the ball effectively, and he's an o-line guy at heart. O-line guys love mauling defenders in the run game, instead of taking the punishment in the passing game.

And this is how misinformation is spread...

Here's the full interview. He starts talking about the offense, and the "core identity" around the 6:30 mark:

Yeah the only way someone gets pass heavy from the interview is if they weren't really paying attention and assumed Grubb would be implementing Washingtons offense with no adjustments, which is the opposite of what MacDonald said

Like some posters above, I’m pretty sure Mac had said something to the affect that Grubb ran the ball effectively or efficiently despite the pass heavy scheme or design.

He also mentioned being a team characterized by a strong ground game.

I didn't get that he wants to be pads heavy from that interview. Aggressive, yes. But pass heavy? No. Running a pass heavy offense would be counter to everything a defensive minded coach would want to create. Defenses are better when their offenses control the ball.

Well, while UW threw the ball A LOT, look at the receivers they had. He also had no problems pounding the rock when needed.

They're going to be efficient in the ground game, that means that every running play will be a touchdown. Why didn't Pete just employ that strategy?
