If I had to bet, I'd say we re-up Scarbrough or sign a similar cheap rotational back to join the Penny/Collins timeshare. And then only one of Dallas or Homer makes the team as the pass-catcher.
To my knowledge, most contracts are written so the team can restructure base salary into signing bonus at any time without needing player approval. I would assume Russ has a similar provision in his contract.
This is up to the team, and Schneider has shown to be pretty reluctant to go this...
So my question would be, has Russ been included in every one of these over the past 8 seasons? Is this actually that out of the ordinary?
I'm curious if any season ticket holders here hang on to their letters and could reference old ones.
I do have a little sneaky suspicion that he isn't getting the separation that he used to. But I don't have the All-22 or enough analytics at my disposal to look into that.
If anyone who does wants to dive into that, I think it would be really interesting to see. Because I've got to imagine...
Guys, it's a line from a Drake song. The next line being "Pray the fakes get exposed."
Take it or leave it but I think it goes without saying what Doug is suggesting there.
Where is this guy expected to go? I've seen him listed anywhere from early 2nd to a 7th rounder in various mock drafts. And he does seem like the mauler type that this team has gravitated towards in the past.
At the very least, he makes a nice day 3 pick in the PFF mocks I do as he's ranked...
I think Rhamondre Stevenson would be a good fit for us, and will be available with a much later pick. I'm hesitant on the idea of using our 2nd on a back, even though I like Williams.
Just to clear up some confusion, the so-called insider (Mr. Nudez, if you will) is simply saying that they're trading for Garrett. He doesn't know any terms, and the terms that are being rumored are not from him.
If they implement it like the NHL does, I'm all for it. All video reviews in the NHL go to the league office in Toronto, and it greatly improves both consistency and speed over the AHL, which uses a local review system (albiet with worse refs).
