Do you consider 1 championship with Wilson a disappointment?

For most of us, I think we are simply reciting the lessons from the cruel loss in SB49 (not to mention SBXL). We hope that Pete & Co have also learned the lessons, though the likelihood of being in a similar position in the future is very small. To me the rational and adult conclusion is to...

    Does anyone else notice...

Yeah, after all, season after season, Russell "the Brand" Wilson has consistently gotten league MVP votes from sophisticated voters around the league who recognize that the 'Hawks would be hot garbage without him. So with all those MVP votes Russell has gotten over the years, for sure he's a...

Do you consider 1 championship with Wilson a disappointment?

Yup, Pete just called for Pass, Bevell called brain-dead play on so many levels, then Bevell blamed Lockette instead of taking responsibility. Pete should have canned him over that the week after, for throwing Lockette under the bus. Brain dead: - Play design relied on Jerome Kearse...

    Injuries piling up for secondary

Yup. In the playoffs and SB, we've lost 2 SBs because of inadequate DB depth. Developing quality depth now leads to SB later. SB Losses from tissue-paper-thin DB depth: SBXL - Ken Hamlin out from stupid bar fight, Marquand Manuel pulls a hammie in 2nd qtr, we put in street free agent Etric...

Do you consider 1 championship with Wilson a disappointment?

I always thought we should have instructed our DBs to tackle Falcons WRs in the area where it's a 5-yard holding 3 plays in a row, and then the clock runs out with Falcons not in FG range. Maybe that would be an interesting thread to get feedback on, would that have worked, or are there flaws...

    QB Training Camp Evaluation

Penny has the size to run inside, and has gotten better at it, especially since the mentoring by Adrian Peterson. I for sure concur that change-of-pace options, Thunder and Lightning, would be a good thing, whether Scarborough or other pickup.

Metcalf and Taylor scuffle during practice

"Anguh... is more useful that despaih" - Arnold S. Glad to see that both DK and Darrell Taylor have that knowledge in their subroutines.

The D will help the Hawks get those 8 or more wins! Sorry Haters.

I remember that stat, and announcers talking about it! Teams that played us nearly always lost their "next" game; they had a "Seahawks hangover".

The D will help the Hawks get those 8 or more wins! Sorry Haters.

Sadly, I have to agree. Gradual improvement over the season seems a bit more realistic. If we bring in a few players who have experience in the Fangio scheme it can only help.

The D will help the Hawks get those 8 or more wins! Sorry Haters.

I remember the year before Russell came on board. In 2011, Hawks beat the Giants, the eventual Super Bowl champions that season, in an exciting road game where Brandon Browner picked off a tipped Eli Manning pass and took it 90 hards to the house to turn what looked like a sure L into a...

Our next future QB from college could be the next Mitch Trubisky

Oh man, and here I was thinking our next drafted QB could be the next Ryan Leaf or JaMarcus Russell! Thanks for reminding me about Nick Foles, SB Champion QB. Trent Dilfer, Jeff Hostetler, Brad Johnson, all "game manager" SB Champion QBs on teams with elite defenses that carried them to a...

The D will help the Hawks get those 8 or more wins! Sorry Haters.

I think your comments are directed at the OP and his trolling title, not at me, but... You say "game manager", Pete says "point guard". Jim Harbaugh turned Colin Krapperdick into a point guard QB on that Niners team that almost came back to beat Baltimore in the SB where the lights went out...

The D will help the Hawks get those 8 or more wins! Sorry Haters.

I'm on board with most of this. The Baltimore Ravens won a SB with Trent Dilfer under center, then released him during preseason the next year. Only time ever a SB-winning QB has been outright released by his team the following year. From that article: "Pete Carroll admitted last year after...

Recipe for 2022, top 5 in rushing yardage and bottom 5 in pass attempts?

I remember that Niners offense running roughshod over teams, including in the playoffs to reach the SB. Damn good D as well. Pete Carroll would be on board with that formula for the Hawks, but not with the noodle-armed QB part of it. I don't see much of that coming together for the Hawks...
