This right here. I don't think anyone likes the piggyback but when the 5 and 6 starters in the rotation are combining for a sub 2 era and saving a thin bullpen innings I don't think we can complain to much.
Come on bud. The Mariners haven't been near as bad with a much lower payroll then the Phillies and Red Sox's. They're coming off a season where they were one game of the World Series. What do you want them to do? I'm not a huge Wilson guy but he's not even close to a fireable level right now.
My favorite was Matt Hasselbeck and that's how I voted. Not to be confused with Russ who was the best.
"We want the ball and we're gonna score" might be the greatest thing that never was.
We need a Milroe package. They did it last year and then abandoned it very quickly after he had a bad pitch that resulted in a fumble. The guy is about as eletric as it gets with the ball in his hands. Give him 3 plays a game in certain spots.
I'm not expecting K9 back so I like Rico Dowdle and Rachaad White as an option. After that I'd say try and bring back your own. Not sure if we have a ton of money after that and extensions on Witherspoon and JSN.
Another move along with Kupp I didn't like. I thought he was to much of a injury risk to sign but boy did I end up wrong. Great piece and veteran leader.
I might be the only one but I hope like hell they have a package of plays for him next year. I think that was the plan this year and he had a bad pitch agaisnt TB and never saw the field again.
The guy ran a 4.37 40 at his pro day. 6'2" at 215 pounds and ran a sub 4.4 40. Let the kid run a few...
We can do worse then Bradford in a contract year. I like always drafting for depth on the OL but I'm not spending big dough in free agency on his replacement.
I know he's gone and there's a new era here but I can't help but think his original vision is how Mike Mcdonald got the job. Pete would appreciate this one.
