I cannot, in good conscience, make an all time list of (what I’ll label) a fan favorite list of all time Seahawks with a player who forced a trade. Therefore my list wouldn’t have Wilson on it.
Russell Wilson, IMO, was/is the Alex Rodriguez of the NFL. When he was on his rookie contract, he grinded, he outworked everyone, antd the day he took the field as a rookie, he instantly made us a contender, which is something Tavares Jackson or Matt Flynn couldn't have done in their dreams. Same with A-Rod. His first contract before FA, he was a grinder, just worked at getting better.

Then, they got paid, and the money changed them both, for worse. They became white collar, and unlikeable. They alienated their teammates, and started acting like A list celebrities. A-Rod was able to still produce for longer, but in Russ's case, the constant punishment he took playing all those years behind garbage O-lines caught up to him, and the drop off was significant and swift.

With that being said, there's no way you can convince me that we don't go to consecutive Super Bowls and win one without him. If we don't draft him, the LOB teams would have been the Jeff Fisher Rams. They'd have gone 7-9 every year, and not even sniff the playoffs, let alone a Super Bowl, with Flynn behind center. He'd have gotten killed behind that line. Pete would have lasted 2 more years, tops, and John Schneider would probably be back in Green Bay right now. He made us relevant, and for that, he deserves to be on this list.

I know Mack Strong was mentioned earlier by someone but another one people forget about is Joe Nash. He actually played in the most games for the Seahawks ever, 15 seasons. One more honorable mansion is Brian Blades, who has been lost to a terrible era of Seahawks football.

Going to take a literal approach, not best players but best Seahawks.

Jim Zorn
Steve Largent
Matt Hasselbeck
Marshawn Lynch
Kam Chancellor
Bobby Wagner
Walter Jones
Dan Doornink
Steve Raible
Joe Nash

This is about being a great Teammate, representing the team, and how they were players that wanted and liked being Seahawks and had great personalities as well, honorable mention Robbie Tobeck.

Why would Tez not be on the list considering your criteria?

Far too long as a team, and far too many guys to choose from for a top ten for the whole time of the team's existence.

There could be a more easily eras of the team selection format, though each of the guys that are HOF players deserve clearly to be top ten. Another way of ranking them could be positionally.

I know this is for fun and subjective, everyone has an opinion but I have to put this out there.
Kam, ET, Sherm and Hutch don't belong in the top 10, they are top 15 at best.
You are trying to include two safeties who together 'might' equal the 1984 defensive player of the year and HOFer that Ronnie Lott called the greatest safety in the game.
R. Sherman is the greatest cover corner we have ever fielded, I just wish he could have played at that level a couple more years for us. Truly great CB's sometimes have suppressed stats from not getting thrown at much.

Any list that doesn't include our alltime INT and sack leaders & ROH members Dave Brown and Jacob Green sadly falls short to recognize their contributions on a larger scale of league history

Ten years from now if someone needs to fall off this list to make room for a present day star, I think we all know the dangerwich gets tossed in the garbage can.

Lastly, not including SA37 but putting ML24 on this list is like the Rams not including Eric Dickerson on their top ten because they already have Marshall Faulk.
What Alexander did in a five year span is unbelievable. Let me know the next time a Seahawk RB scores 100 TD's and gains almost 10K yards.

To me, players like Lynch, Kam, ET, Sherm, and Hutch were better at their respective positions than SA was at his. Not going to fault someone if they put SA above or below those players given how good he still was and him being the only MVP we've had (Hutch in the top 10 seems wrong to me though - he's a Viking more than a Seahawk). Not everyone here was alive for (or old enough to remember) guys like Brown and Green.

Shout out to @Hawkstorian

Yall should check out/search for his all time by position list.

I could be too many beers in to be posting but….

I recall a well thought out and extensive project he posted years ago. That list is a much better version of this thread.

Ok, not trying to regurgitate this but just because someone wasn't "alive or old enough to remember" doesn't change history or erase it.

That 2013 LOB defense had 28 INTs with Richard Sherman leading with 8 and the team had 39 total turnovers.
The 1984 defense had 63 total takeaways/turnovers with 7 INT's returned for
TD's. League defensive MVP Kenny Easley led the team with 10 interceptions and Dave Brown had 8 INT's with the team totaling 38 INTs.
To recap.
84D 38 INT / LOB 28 INT.
84D 63 turnovers / LOB 39 turnovers.

We've been very lucky to have had the 84 Defense, the LOB and now the Dark side.
All I'm saying is when Kurt Russell did the intro for SB48 and said "These ballhawks from the Pacific Northwest", there was a glimmer of dominance with Tom Catlin's guys ripping it up.

I hope Mike's guys never stop working to improve and soon become the greatest defense the Seahawks have ever fielded.
Because in Seattle, we love our defense and we have the voice to prove it.
