Everyone knows interceptions list this game but when you play a team sport and you play it with a team mentality, this is exactly what they should be saying. It’s such a close game that there are a dozen different things that could have changed the outcome. Of course when the ball is turned over as much as it was tonight it’s jar so overcome, especially against a team like the rams.
He had to say what he did and I think he likely means it and should. There is nothing to say Sam can't learn and grow from this. He Fd up big time and all the rosey praise he was getting at being our starting QB after his stint ended the way it did in Minny is now gone. I say good. The numbers he was putting up were nice but he was showing hints of this kind of play sitting their just below the surface.

For all the talk that the line failed him, look at the INTs. It's not like the pockets were collapsing around him. He wasn't sacked and he was only hit 3 times. That's just not acceptable and when teammates start to see more and more of this kind of play on tape where there is no great excuse - no tipped ball. No lack of protection on a day he was sacked 5 or 6 times... Just him making bad plays... the support will soften and morale will drop.

It looks like we have no choice but to go on a run (yeah, we will).

I think the elephant in the room for those looking closely is this, this guy is Payton Manning/Aaron Rogers when he has no obstacles in his gameplan, this is on coaching, we've hitched our wagon to Sam, I believe in him, there's something there in his processing, find it/fix it, coach it out of him.

Defense can play better. I expect a W next time, THAT IS a must win.
I hope you are right, but when you look at 4 passes that should have Never even been attempted being the cause, and after 2 INTs and him being fully aware of the situation and what was at stake, for him to go out and throw 2 more even more careless than the first 2 is troubling. I'm sure MM and Kubiak talked to him during the game, told him not to force anything because he didn't need to and he just did it anyway. Some guys are just like that.

And its not like coaching out him in a bad situation. His 1st int was his 2nd pass of the game. He didn't have to throw that ball when he did or off of his back foot. 2nd one either. He didn't have pressure and just threw into triple coverage.
3rd one? After KNOWING he had to be more careful, he just stood flat footed in the pocket. Ignore a free rusher and tossed the ball at his first read - a blanketed, bracketed wr that even with no pressure shouldn't have been the read.

4th one, again after KNOWING we were giving the game away, evades pressure and then just throws it right to the defender.

Coaching stops at a certain point and from that point on, instincts take over. Sams problems in this game happened before and after that point in situations where the team was functioning adequately in almost all cases and admirably in most others. There was no reason to throw the passes he did, pressure or not.

The dude is seeing ghosts. And that is hard to fix. It can't be that when the line gives up pressure, but not enough to yield a single sack and only give up 3 hits in 44 passes that your QB goes into a shell and craps his pants.

Sam is rhythm / timing quarterback. They moved him off his spot, and sped up his clock. On one of the sacks, Olu gave up instant pressure. They don't need to sack him to disrupt his timing. They just need to move him off the spot and not allow him to set his feet.

Other times, sure he could have made a better decision - take the sack, take the less aggressive underneath pass, or throw it away.

But he had pressure on 3 of 4 of those picks. Oline was not good against this Rams pass rush.

My argument is look at dude's highlights. Now, can he fix it? If good coaches do their jobs and figure out what it is? Coaching or he/we fail.

He said what any leader would say under the circumstances.

Looking forward to kicking the Titans ass next week and going 8-3.

There is so much that goes into this game. Hours and hours of preparation by so many people. Hundreds of people. Scouts coaches training staff, medical staff, players Everyone is working this extremely hard.

The other team is putting in the same amount of work. Yeah they get paid too

Every player on any given play can make a mistake that could help the team lose the game. Every player.

No pain no gain. When the going gets tough the tough get going

it is not making the mistake that is the problem, it is all about how you respond afterwards that is what matters. How does the team as a whole respond to adversity. Responding well to adversity is what will make you a very strong team

Football is the ultimate team game

Earnest Jones comments have the potential to really bring this team together, to make it stronger, to help completely unite this team. Teams were players play for each other and have each other backs are usually the strong teams. No finger pointing. Jones comments were pure gold. These comments probably have set the locker room in the right direction for the rest of the season

These comments may be the turning point of the season. These comments make me believe that the best is yet to come.

The last thing we need is for the players to act like the fans and go boo hoo and play the blame game

We were one play away from winning this game.as Jones stated so eloquently is there were so many different times in the game were we could of made that one play

HOW WE RECOVER DEPENDS ON MIKE MACDONALD. THE GURU OF NFL DEFENSES RECOVERS, OR WE LOSE IN WHAT WE PAID HIM FOR.

PLAYERS WON'T SAY IT SO I WILL, WHY DID YOU GET SMOKED BY MCVAY COACH? YOUR DEFENSE SUCKS ASS IF YOU DONT BEAT MCVAY, WE AINT COOL WITH A GOOD RECORD AND THE OFFSEASON, WIN IT, OR STOP EVERYONE FROM EVEN THINKING OF TALKING, YOU LOST, SHUT UP AND WIN.

THIS IS ON THE COACH OF ONE OF THE MOST ATHLETIC TEAMS I'VE SEEN SINCE 2013.

YOU, ALL OF YOU BLESSED WITH TALENT, DO YOU UNDERSTAND WE'D LOSE LIFELONG MOBILITY TO GET A LOMBARDI? THAT'S THE RIFT I THINK BETWEEN US NORMIES AND YOU WHO MADE IT, IT'S NOT HATE, IT'S THE UNDERSTANDING THAT YOU ARE IN A PLACE THAT LOVES AND SUPPORTS YOU AND BEING YOUR BEST, FOR NO ONE ELSE THAN FOR YOU OR FOR THE GOD WHO MADE YOU, JUST BE THE BEST YOU, IT'S WHAT WE NORMIES HAVE TO DO, AND WE CAN SEE IF YOU AINT TRYING. YOU STEP IN TO WHAT GOD GAVE YOU OR YOU DONT.

THIS IS ALL ON MIKE.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT WE EXPECT HERE MIKE?

PLAY THE PLAYERS WHO SEE THIS AND UNDERSTAND THAT THAT FOOTBALL IS OURS, THE BEST FANS IN THE NFL WANT IT, WE GET ELECTRIC, DON'T BE AFRAID, WHO IS BEST SHOULD PLAY, MAKE IT HAPPEN, COACH AS YOU ARE, THE BEST, THE FOOTBALL IS YOURS, PNW WILL BE HERE AFTER YOU LEAVE. HOW DARE THEY PRETEND IT IS THEIRS.

Defense/Earl didn't have to talk, it was just smooshing people, they many times just didn't get up, clean play too, they were just that many steps ahead. Shut up, if you want to be anything like them, shut up and hit.

Jfc once again y’all manage to turn this into basically ANOTHER.. Sam sucks thread.

Some of you are just sad. Holy shit. Is this what being a Seahawks or football fan has become? Just f-n thrash a dude who still kept the team in the game? lol F everything else! 7-3 OH NO! F Sam Darnold!! F Him for being born!! Smh if this is what being a Seahawks or football fan is now… no wonder f-n lumen field has got more opposing fans coming to it, y’all only support them when they do good, god forbid they loose one. The Seahawks fans as has become two faced, nose in the sky, spoiled. Holy hell how pathetic, and what a far cry from the roudy bunch that supports the team and players regardless.

Some of y’all sit here and act to know players “patterns”/“habits” better than the people who scout the league and have more access. Some of y’all… well love to shit on others opinions who know less about either the game or team. Some of you all love to ignore any circumstances that occurred to cause the interceptions I love to twist it so it’s still a players fault you don’t like. Like the first int Kupp was held but wasn’t called..or another where JSN was clearly held.. no call lol. It’s funny because then you’ll twist the rules in your view is it was legit. Even though multiple angles and replays show otherwise. But yeah wow.. the fanbsss sure has
Morphed into something.. something really sad. Bunch of nose in the sky know it alls.
Could NOT have said it any better.
Lost by >>TWO POINTS<< in a low scoring game, playing AWAY against a damned top-drawer defense/offense.

I hear what you are saying but it's not like Sam was running for his life. His first pick, he slid left and was fine and decided to fall back and throw the ball off of his back foot. He could have just kept rolling left.

The one where he got blasted- sure, it was a missed block. But it was right in his face and he just stood there and tossed it up. I mean if the expectation is that he needs to be able sit back there and read a book with his blanket every game, that's unrealistic.

And again, it's not like it's the first time. He brain farted unnecessarily against the Texans and did some idiotic, unforced stuff against the Cards as well.

That being said, I don't think he CANT be redeemed. But like another painter pointed out, he now leads the league in TOs at 30 since last year. He is in a better team this year, we have been winning a good bit with what everyone acknowledges as a great offense, and he is head and shoulders worse this year at coughing it up. Even before this week, he was on pace to match his TO rate from last year.

He is in a rut that across 28 games has netted 30 TOs. 28 games is a loonnggg time to get a look at a guy.

10 ganes this year is a long time to see who he will be with a better line in front of him.

And the 2nd half yesterday was a long time to realize he REALLY needed to be more careful.

The lights are flashing in bright red, but the Darnold mobile keeps on rolling.

Heard people on this very forum trash the LOB when they lost to the Cards in 2013....giving up that long go ahead TD pass from Carson...
