I’m repeating what ALL of the nfl insiders are tweeting. They also say JS really loves a qb in this draft, maybe more than one but one for sure.

Geno wanted $45mil/ year. JS wasn’t going above $35. Raiders have a long term deal for Geno in place.

The Darnold contract looks like same deal for Geno 3/105 with outs after every year. Would likely only cost $20-$25 mil in 2025, again with outs.

That’s what I’ve been reading from the nfl insiders
It’s good to have options.

Let’s go Justin fields
Didn’t he play with JSN in college?

I'm pretty certain that Darnold is a worse option than Geno and if we don't fix our line, that is a disaster waiting to happen.

BUT! I wouldn't have given Geno 3 years at $45M either, so what can you do?

I think more important than who replaces Geno will be what we do with the trenches because odds are increasing we are going to be a very run heavy offense next year.

I don't know...

Darnold and Geno actually have similar pressure rates and sack numbers. I don't think it's as bad as people think.

Sam Darnold was being reviled as a wonder reclamation project in here in December when he whipped our butts.

Yeah he had a terrible playoff game. But now he sucks again?

Are we that bipolar in here??

I'm not team Sam, but can we be at least a bit consistent?
1) He always sucked. 2) We are way beyond bipolar and 3) no, consistency is not in Seattle DNA

Sam Darnold had a better O-Line and the longest time to throw of any pocket passer in the league.

If he comes here with the O-Line we fielded last year, it'll be much worse than people think. The bright side is with Tyler, Geno, and probably DK off the books, we have the money to fix that line.

You people make me laugh. The same people screaming move on from Geno at all costs. Figure it out later. Are now not happy with who the rumored replacement is (whom is a lot younger and rumored a lot cheaper)

If nothing makes you happy go root for the browns or something. God damn

Who exactly are the people that said "move on from Geno at all costs" ? The ones that posted above your post? It certainly wasn't me.

Sign up Jimmy Garappolo for cheap, and draft a qb.

Seahawks have $50 million in dead cap, the 6th highest in the league. Could go even higher in a week or two.

I’m all for Darnold. Best chance to win. Cheaper. If we improve we make playoffs. If it misses we pick high.

Tons of cap space to build trenches

The only thing that I care about is them finding the long term answer at QB within the next couple seasons. Man I don't want to go through one of those decade long droughts again.

No to Darnold. That Vikings offense was perfect for him. Our offense is blown up. Darnold will look more like his Jets self here than his Vikings self.

At the very least, he has played with Kubiak in SF so will be familiar with the offense.

The guy I'd really like to see us make an inquiry into is Jake Browning. I'm pretty surprised we've heard like nothing about him in the past year. I thought he looked fantastic filling in for Burrow in 2023. The moment was definitely not too big for him and whatever athletic limitations caused him to be considered a fringe prospect going into his draft weren't apparent. I believe he led the league in completion percentage that season and at least in the games I watched, he wasn't just dinking and dunking. I get some Hasselbeck vibes from him.

I know he has tremendous value to the Bengals as a cheap, reliable backup, but they're under suffocating pressure to stop wasting Burrow's prime. At some point, they have to wonder whether it's in their best interest to hold onto a player they hope won't see the field if they can get something that can contribute more in the present. Browning is going into the last year of his contract anyway.

So everyone now thinks we are going 2 and 14 if we sign a 27 year old QB who just took a team 14 - 2 ... But we were going to be just sniffing and getting into the playoffs with Geno Smith, throwing more interceptions last year.. and most of them in the red zone?

This seems interesting.

So we should TANK.... Sign "Archy" Manning who isn't proven.

At some point on this board I've read that they want JUSTIN FIELDS... At the SAME age, without ANY proven ability so far in his career.

I don't get some of you. Please further explain vs the previous comments that seem to ignore.... everything?

We won't tank. Even if we tried with Sam, Washington couldn't with him still throwing for 4k yards.

I’ve realized football has changed a little bit, people are more fans of players and not teams. It’s obvious this last year when people jumped on Macdonald at the first sign of trouble were the same guys who were pissed Pete was let go. If the new QB fails the really pro Geno crowd will jump at the first sign for the same reason.

It’s human nature I guess but this stuff is more fun when you focus on your team I think.

We aren't tanking. we will probably sign Darnold but even if we don't we won't be losing 15 games. Options are out there, whether in the draft or in free agency.
