Hey, did you know that there's a Bay area team looking for a head coach? No, not that team, the other one. The Oakland Raiders. Report out last night has them interviewing Eric Mangini for the position.

This seem to be a yearly undertaking in Oakland. Wonder who wishes to sign up to be publicly fired halfway through next season.

I think the Raiders need a safe hire. They need a Gary Kubiak, Mangini or even a Holmgren to be a bridge guy. Hell, Schottenheimer would be a good call. They need a known, even if blasé, head coach to turn the entire culture around.

That's not a bad job, really. If they can get a LT in this draft, they'd have everything; QB, #1 DB, OLB/PR and a MLB. That's good ingredients...

If it wasn't such a poisonous franchise, they might lure Coach Holmes. He's a Bay Area guy, and he's sort of a big fat boy like Madden.
