Interesting............Not really sure what to think of the WR swap. They must of felt that Walters was gonna get signed by someone else and now felt a little more comfortable with Bates hitting the waiver wire and making it through since most teams have set their 53 man roster.

Can't see the team keeping 7 WRs for long.

Bates likely goes to the pS if he clears waivers. Does this mean that Matthews is now needing to look over his shoulder in terms keeping his PS job?

Re Matthews. Not necessarily. The ps is more about preparing for opponents than a developmental squad.

Maybe, but I think its S, Steve Terell after they added DB Josh Aubrey.

Would love to see us get Horace Miller back (via the PS) when he's healthy again. He really showed during the pre-season, at both the Will and Sam.

That's good I don't know the extent of Brooks injury and if he'll be able to play this year again but once healthy I fully expect Miller to come back via PS.

I think more than anything it's his lack of ST's value. Bates got ample opportunities on ST's coverage units and failed to distinguish himself, never mind a block in the back penalty vs. SD. Multiple drops at WR didn't help either.

So what was the point of having bates make the team only to waive him days later?

After reevaluation of the roster PC/JS decided they needed 1 more white guy to balance the roster.

I'm joking of course....

So what has changed in the last two days since Walters was cut? Maybe second thoughts by Pete about having Earl Thomas return punts?
