Griz(Mike-Bob) had asked me about Jon so I sent him an email. Got this note back from him and thought you all would want to see it. He said something nice about me which I expect you all to ignore. I also suggested his wife get a cattle prod as that was way cheaper than 911.
Thanks for the message Les! It is pretty cool. I watched the game from my bed yesterday with my family all here with me. It was funny because I had to monitor my heart rate throughout. So I'm using this stupid heart monitor and I start feeling fidgety when the Saints score and my resting heart rate tops 100. Then they get the onside kick and it jumped off the chart for about a minute and then "settled down" to 110! I wasn't sure if I was going to make it!!!!
My wife seems to have 9-1 dialed on the phone with her finger hovering over the 1 key at about all times. It's pretty funny.
I got up and went to walmart the other day because I hadn't left bed in a couple of weeks. We grabbed some food and a couple of essentials for the kids and I felt like I had run a marathon. What happened to me? I used to be strong and fast and a good athlete just five years ago. It's so weird.
I see a specialist on Wednesday and am still battling with social security for my benefits. I have a couple of "automatic qualifying" conditions, but because I worked with them for years and tried to be a productive human then they punish me when I really need help. If I had just applied five years ago I would have been shooed right in. I guess doing your best is a bad thing. Really confusing.
I'm so proud of the Hawks. Last year was supposed to be a rebuild year with a rookie QB and we are only in his second season. He's looked a bit off the last few weeks, but they find a way to win and that is great. I'm hoping for the best!
You deserve to see them win it all, especially with all of the crap you had to deal with from jerky fans like myself for the last 10 years. I remember how hard you worked to keep people calm after the game against the Stealers. It did not go unnoticed. The board easily could have melted down and fallen completely apart after that, but you made it bring us all closer together. That takes some serious skills of leadership and human understanding. I would have blown a gasket, especially because I was a much bigger jerk back then.
My thumbs are tired. I only use the phone for most internet stuff, so I can't see many web pages really well, so I've been using twitter and email from my bed. I got to exchange a few messages on twitter with Ryan (pehawk) after the game so I don't feel completely out of the loop.
It was cool to see how excited and strong the fans were even with the crummy weather and all. They are the best fans there are. I hope they keep their cool win or lose next week and realize life can be short, and to enjoy the great things for what they are. We can't control the result, but we can sure do our best to try to help things along in our own way. Enjoy the ride and don't worry so much about the destination. We will all end up there no matter what!
Talk to you soon my friend. Hopefully good things on the horizon after seeing yet another specialist on Wednesday!
