Jon Ryan and Jeremy Lane have been studs. But that stat is still surprising for it's awesomeness.

Lane is a great special teams player. He's always the first one down there. Amazing stat though.

It's an amazing stat. Tate is averaging 13.16 yards PER RETURN.

Golden Tate just had a 71-yard punt return. His Seahawks have allowed 15 yards on 11 punt returns this season. Tops in NFL.

That's a 1.36/punt return average.

That's pretty crazy, at least for modern-era NFL.

FG Kickers weren't as automatic or as long-range back in the day, so I suspect a lot of these were probably due to fairly short touchbacks.

Sure seems like returners are letting the ball go or they're fair catching it whenever possible. Great job ST.

The new coverage scheme started about 10-15 years ago where they run down the field and drop the ball at the 3 yard line or less has created a need to fair catch the ball within the 15 yard line. Back in the day, you would never see this. Now it seems to be commonplace...even inside the 10. If ya have peeps down the field, the fear I think is there may be a muffed ball and then the change/rechange of possession. My has the game changed since I was just a young Hawk. LOL

Half of that from Tavon Austin. I knew he was going to be a thorn in our side.
He's just too fast for us.
