Finally, now that preseason is over....

Ok, i know as i am writing this that the Seahawks still have two quarters left to play, but im sure you have watched enough and will respond more if needed after the game is over to answer these questions.

I come in peace of course, just wondering what your eyes have seen.

1. What are your teams strengths?

2. what are your weaknesses?

3. what are the surprise players? any late round/udfa that have shined in camp and preseason and could be gold down the road?

4. any starters who you are worried and think they might be a liability?

Basic questions of course.

I'll try my best to tell answer those questions about the Rams

1. D-line a strength of course. has only gotten stronger with Gerald Rivers DE(UDFA) and Brockers growing. Hayes is great in the rotation as well.

2. Safeties. Starting a rookie and a 2nd year UDFA. Depth isn't to great either at this point but we are praying.

3. Benny Cunningham RB, has played well, will make the roster and could push to be #1 this season. RayRay Armstrong OLB. converted safety who i believe will be a starter next season, has played really well in preseason just needs to add weight, will make the 53 and if Witherspoon struggles in the first 4 games could start(Dunbar suspened first 4 games). Cody Davis. Tall, fast safety, needs some time but i think he will make the 53 and could be a starter next year if we dont draft a high round safety.

4. Saffold, injury prone. Our safeties. Whoever is our left guard.

Receivers im still worried about but not like before, have to wait and see how they play before knowing.

Secondary is above average, not the greatest but easily good enough.

LB's will be fine i believe

Starting O-line looks really good.

Bradford looks good.

Any questions you have for me i will answer no problem. Just looking to see whats going on with you team so i can have a feel for it.

I know its hard to know everything since the preseason is vanilla as hell, but still curious.

1. Our team strengths are the Rams weaknesses.

I have a bit of DL envy with you guys for sure. While our starting DL -- when healthy -- is a formidable group, we've had our share of injuries there that is cause for concern. How much concern depends on who you ask.

Globally, I think our depth is our strength. Our soon-to-be 53-man roster will be as good and as deep as anyone's in the NFL. Our OL, especially at Guard will be a concern with Sweezy getting the nod at RG but not without risk. While his upside is tremendous, he's new to the position as of last year. LG is a concern as McQuistan isn't a bad player by any stretch but he's not the formidable presence you want next to LT Okung. James Carpenter is supposed to fill that role but injuries have been his bugaboo.

I think Stephen Williams at WR has been a surprise. Catches nearly everything thrown his way and has tremendous size and good hands that could be troublesome for many CB's and Safeties. Kearse has had one of the strongest camps out of all the players. There are others but I want to get back to the game.

Sweezy, as mentioned before may be a liability. His pass pro is one giant "meh" but he's a mauler on run coverage. He's learning the position on the job which is always a bit nerve-wracking. Giacomini (RT) is a BRUTE but he doesn't always think first, react second.

Rams are going to be tough this year. They have our respect.

Thanks guys, i mean it. It seems as if the Rams trenches and the Seahawks trenches are going to be a big factor in our matchups. Also i think you guys overall, with depth and eveything might be a problem for our wr's, i hope not, but it could be. You guys do have an amazing secondary of course. How is your pass rush this year?

1. Running game, and Defense have been really solid all preseason. Deep, deep, team we have here. We knew the secondary was terrific, but the D-line has impressed me in stopping the run. Also forcing turnovers. Hawks are +9 in that category in the preseason.

2. Hmm (I actually needed to think a sec) Oline depth is still a weakness. Penalties too. I don't feel as confident in our O-linemen should any of the starters go down. Penalties have been a lingering issue from last season. Too many penalties extending opponents' drives.

3. Luke Willson, TE: 5th round pick. Looks like a solid lock to take the backup TE role, which is utilized pretty often in the 'Hawks system. He has all the intangibles. Also, Jermaine Kearse. An undrafted WR last season who I was convinced would be forced to the practice squad with the Harvin signing...He's been Mr Big Play and Mr. Consistency and has really earned a spot on the roster. Especially since Chris Harper, our 4th round WR this season has looked like hot garbage all preseason.

4. No. Honest answer. Our starters our very solid across the board.

It's been better. It's been worse.

DE Clemons is still fighting to come back from injury sustained in the playoffs last year. We signed Cliff Avril from Detroit to help make a difference and offset what Clemons brings but he's been dealing with his own set of injuries so that's been an issue. Michael Bennett, another FA acquisition to help with the pass rush has also had some injuries but he's slated to start Week 1 in Carolina.

Feed Bruce Irvin into the mix and that features a four game suspension for PEDs. The good news for Rams fans is that our pass rush will have serious question marks the first quarter of the season.

The bad news? Those question marks may disappear the final 3 quarters of the season when suspensions and health returns.

Rams will find a way to screw it up... Bradford is no RW, and this is not a homer talking... their OL is garbage and a 7th rounder at RB.. counting on a bunch of rookies at WR???? sounds like us circa 1997-98 because it suddenly became "now time".. Rams D will be good no doubt, but their offense is still terrible.. Bradford is Rick Mirer only 50M richer

The depth in the offensive line is inexperienced and probably the weakness of the team. Physically capable, but far from NFL ready. If Seattle loses two starters, they will have issues.
Fortunately, Russell Wilson can compensate some, but it is the run first mentality that will take a hit.

The defensive line will be the surprise of the team. The pass rush potential is through the roof. Seattle probably has five players capable of playing competent LEO and two that are capable of pro bowl play. The defensive tackles are stout. I'm much higher on this group than most people on this forum. They just have to heal up a bit. It won't totally reveal itself for the first four games or so.

The tight end, Willson, will probably rack up the best offensive rookie statistics, but Christine Michael is the true beast trapped behind Marshawn Lynch as well as Micheal's inability to pass protect yet.

Seattle's depth will translate to special teams. Combine that with Carroll's philosophy of playing first line players there and it may be the special teams that are the strength of the club. The punter is one of the best in the business and the kicker is accurate and getting stronger. There are multiple players capable of reproducing the productivity of Leon Washington in the return game. Red Bryant might be the best blocker of place kicks in the entire league.

The surprise player would likely come at wide receiver in the form of Jermaine Kearse or Stephen Williams.

Valid points from seasons past i will admit. I'm trying to be as bias as possible here. RW is great, i will admit, but i wouldn't count out Bradford just yet. I think he will do better this season then in previous seasons. i say between 25-30 td's, and around 10-13 int's. thats not to bad really, but ofc i hope for more td's, but if he hits those marks i will be happy.

Our O-line is the best it has been since...well since Pace was on the team. If it can stay healthy ofc.

We are only counting on one rookie wr, and that is Tavon Austin.

At Rb, we are counting on two 2nd year backs and possibly a rookie, which doesnt really matter since RB is the easiest position to adapt to in the NFL.

Just my opinion on those remarks.

Just to add to things, our pass rush isn't going to be just the line as it was mostly last year, were going to be coming from all angles, Quinn is much more of a set the tone and keep the pressure on guys.
