i've seen a few sites (NFL.com to name one) that predict C.Michael takes over for Lynch in 2015. I personally think this front office will not try to have Lynch take a pay cut or anything like that. I think they will let Lynch play out his contract becuase of his impact on the franchise and the message it would send to the other players. I think But they probably won't resign him.

Didn't he sign a 3 year deal? That means it expires at the end of the 2014 season. I could be wrong though.

That 2 million dollar roster bonus in 2015 will be the kicker. They'll either cut him before paying that or let him walk after that season. UFA in 2016. I'd give it a 25% chance of playing out the contract.

I say he has a 50/50 chance of finishing it out, although I would personally love him to play it out as that means he is still tearing it up.

3/4/2012: Signed a four-year, $31 million contract. The deal contains $17 million guaranteed, including a $6 milling signing bonus and all of Lynch's first- and second-year base salaries. Another $1 million is available through incentives in the final two years based on 1,500-yard rushing seasons. 2013: $7 million, 2014: $5 million (+ $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses), 2015: $5.5 million (+ $2 million in per-game roster bonuses), 2016: Free Agent

$1 million bonus for 1,500 yards? Heh. He probably didnt love the Michael pick. He's going to want all the snaps he can get.

He doesn't have the stamina to do that as he has taken himself out of plays quite a bit in last season to take a breather.

With Turbin and some of the new draft picks he better nut up or just may find himself the next Matt Flynn.

GO HAWKS!!!

why do I sense of Lynch hate amongst these posts? He still is a yard producing machine and is one of the best Seahawks(IMHO) we have have. Give the man a little more cred...

Nawww they're to busy trying to start shit up. Typical of a quiet off season.

People like this need to be careful what they wish for. Never make the decision to replace a veteran with a rookie that hasn't even carried the ball for real yet.

All I said was, he is contracted for 2 more years, and will be approaching 30 at the end of those 2 years. That is the magic cutoff point these days.

It's not people hating on Lynch. He's 27 years old and we have 2 young RB's on the team. He also has big cap numbers when we may need cap space for guys like Wilson, Sherm, Thomas, Okung, etc..

IMO I think he's traded for draft picks just on the cusp of his downside. This might be the thinking of the FO with most of these guys short of Wilson. As well as the FO drafts, I'm all for it.

Yeah HH I know. But I noticed through the years things change so fast that its virtually impossible to come up with a scenerio now that will match the circumstances 2 years from now.

No offense intended. I know some can't help but start worrying about things that might not even happen.

I see him playing out his contract as the starter barring injury.. the competition will be between turbin and Michael for the back up role, where i think it will be stiff..Whoever wins that will more than likely take over as starter down the road.. Lynch's style will not allow him to play much longer than that at this level.. beautiful to watch but it takes it's toll, ask Jerome Bettis and Earl Campbell...

i agree Lynch has earned the respect of the Seahawk nation, and should be treated as such by the organization, no matter what decisions have to be made down the road.

And one of the RB's we got this year is a brute, don't remember his name.

Age is also a factor, but as a season ticket holder that sits behind the Hawk bench, I can not remember how many times I saw Marshawn running towards the sideline tapping his head wanting to come out this last season.

Not hating, just facts.

GO HAWKS!!!

Lynch straight up carried this team on his back at times last season. He was a big reason that Russell was as successful as he was. He saved our butts in Washington. He single handedly changed the perception of a team that was once considered among the softest in the league BEFORE our D arrived.

No hate here. If this dude can produce for three more years at his level, then he deserves to play out his deal. Big if, though.

That's a good point. I tend to think ahead a lot instead of enjoying the here and now.
