Life works in funny ways. Bought a tip to Ireland for me and the Ms's back in June. We were supposed to be there from Sept 30 to the 8th of October. We were really looking forward to going, and then last week, one of our dogs got seriously ill and we had to cancel. We scrambled for two days to find something local to do where we could take the dogs and came up with a six day stay in Isle of Palms, SC. Beautiful place on the beach complete with kayaks, hot tub, pool... perfect. Well, 2 days pass and the weather reports go from a few days of light rain to full on potential cat 4 storm event. So we cancel that as well. Then, on a whim, i do a quick search for RT tickets, Baltimore to Seattle and BINGO! $346 RT per person special. We'd talked about vacationing in the pacific NW for years. I used to live up there when my dad was in the Army (Ft Lewis). It was a while ago but it left a lasting mark that i've carried with me my whole life. The natural beauty, the people... the SEAHAWKS! Hit up StubHub and bought two wickets to the game. It will be Angela's first and my first since i was 9 years old. Hopefully the result will be better this time than it was then... we lost to the Giants 32-0. We'll be in section 137, screaming our heads off! So completely unexpected to go from two canceled vacations and the gloom of potentially having to stay home (we haven't vacationed in 7 years due to one stupid circumstance or another) to going to one of my favorite places in the world so that we can hang out with 60,000+ of my closest friends, doing one of my favorite things in life to do... watching my Hawks! LIVE! all in the span of 5 days.
Also plan on going to the Ravens game later this year when the Hawks come to town. I think i might just pass out from all of the excitement
Looking for recommendations on where to stay and things to do around town if anyone has them. Open to anything.
