NFLPA figures have the Seahawks at $12.9 million left. OTC is a little bit less but the NFLPA figure is more reliable in my opinion. Jason isn't always privy to all the details.

Cutting Kam puts us back over $17,000,000. Right now the draft picks won't count that much as they are only 4 of them so after all that the Seahawks will be around $15M left.

They could easily spend another $10M and go into the season OK.

At this point I suspect that the team will be quite silent in FA and otherwise until after the draft save for potential trades and trying to lock down Clark or others to a multi year contract.

JS will want to protect the comp picks so that next season when the real cap crunch with Wilson, Wagner, Reed, and possibly Clark happens they have draft capital, or they can trade those comp picks for more picks this season.

Although they only have 4 picks at present they may if things are normal add a couple or three more by draft trades.

I'm guessing that this cap number assumes that Clark plays under his cap number, so we could have some potential cap savings if we can work out a long term deal with him at some point this year.

Maybe Shaun asked for the second round so he wouldn't have anyone there to tackle him, would be embarrassing to curl up like a baby on stage :)

Here's an interesting roster observation: the team has 32 of 68 players either playing in the last year of their contract or under 1 Yr. deals. That is an unusually high number.

They will have cap flexibility next season to at least sign their big players, should that happen.

Their depth will be dubious for all but very young players. Sadly this draft they won't be adding lots.

This offseason and next will continue to be challenging. If the critical guys can be retained the team will remain strong but dependant upon a great draft next season.

the team will be very active in the Undrafted college FA market this year.

Thanks for posting Kitsap.

The deadline for signing the RFA tenders is April 19, suspect we should hear about Fant soon too.
