I already put this in the NFL Nation Forum but wanted to make sure more see this post and respond.

I am a rabid Seattle Seahawks fan but in light of playing the Washington Football Team this week been thinking with family about an appropriate name for the WA DC Team

Here are my favorites:

1. Washington Swamp Creatures (Fitting based upon what goes on in WA D.C). (My first choice!)
2. Washington Swamp Monsters (similar idea) "Drain the Swamp!"
3. D.C Swamp Monsters
4. D.C. Swamp Creatures
5. Washington Freedom Fighters
6. Washington Whigs
7. Washington Senators
8 Washington Wimps
9. D.C. Crocs
10. D.C. Crooks (Same theme!)
11. D.C. "Deep Staters"
12. Washington Wannabes
13. Washington Weight Lifters

What name would you choose?

My kids think "Washington Worms" or "Washington Waders", or "Washington Weasels".

I see that this thread is largely in jest but as a HUGE fan of WWII Warbirds and the history of that war in regards to aviation, I heard someone mention a name that would THRILL me to no end:

The Washington Red Tails.

In honor of the Tuskegee Airmen. Some of the finest fighter pilots in all of WWII, and what they had to go through with the racial injustices before, during and after the war. Please take some time to research a little bit about them, it's incredibly inspiring on so many levels.

If they actually renamed themselves the Red Tails they would instantly become my second favorite team.

Since those jackasses in DC like to refer to *us* as 'the other Washington', I'm in favor of calling them the Washington Wannabes.

The Bullets. It's a cool name and a strong name. Would be welcomed among long time fans of DC's NBA team, too. Plus they'd be replacing one politically incorrect name with another, which would be a nice middle finger to everyone who complained about their old name.

I still can't believe they changed the name of The Bullets to The Wizards because the name had "violent overtones" lol. But the good news is that isn't something we can't come back from, unlike when a name is deemed racist.

That pic gave me an idea for a team name. The Washington Bunnies.

And put the Indian insignia back on the helmet. Let's celebrate America's most precious resource, the American Indian!
