University of Washington athletics on Monday announced the activation of its multi-year deal with apparel giant Adidas, officially ending Nike's 20-year partnership with the school.
"We are very excited to kick off our partnership with adidas, and I think our student-athletes and fans will appreciate the depth of thoughtfulness and commitment they have poured into these launch activations," UW director of athletics Jen Cohen said in a press release. "Leading up to the partnership launch, adidas has shown a huge appetite to listen and learn what makes Washington unique, and I believe that spirit will be reflected throughout all of these activations."
The launch programming will include custom footwear, a fan experience event in Husky Harbor, and a party on campus centered on Husky football's Sept. 28 game against USC in the upcoming season. More information can be found on http://www.adidas.com/uw.
UW's new uniform designs for fall sports will be unveiled on the following dates:
July 10: football
August 6: women's soccer
August 9: volleyball
August 13: men's soccer
August 28: cross country
University of Washington athletics and Adidas came to terms on a partnership in April 2018. The deal is for 10 years and worth nearly $12 million annually, according to The Seattle Times, making the agreement among the top-10 most valuable in college athletics.
The Huskies join Arizona State as the only Pac-12 schools affiliated with Adidas.
