Love the Sherman bashing in the main forum when he isn't even here anymore, we should merge this with the Wilson thread and link it to PFT so they can have their field day with it.

He was so obviously the main source of ESPN's early season/just before season hit piece on Wilson. He took shots and didn't even put his name on it which to me is worse in many ways.
That's heresay.
It's crap like this that mutates into "facts" that start getting bandied about on the board as truth when it's just pure unadulterated speculation.
I'm sure Sherm has some bitterness about some things that happened during his tenure. I'm also sure that he sees things from a very one sided view and lacks perspective about the whole NFL business. But I'm not going to ascribe to him a role as the chief rumour monger that set out to undermine the whole team while here or on his departure.
It is also common sense and obvious as hell.
But go ahead and drink the Sherm kool aid.....I'll watch and report the effects. :179422:
I'm not drinking anyone's koolaid but Pete Carroll's. :179422:
Sherm was a great player for us and quite likely could have been locker room cancer, but I won't ever state that as fact no matter how "obvious as hell" it is. Plenty of other locker room cancer possibilities in last years room including the one guy that actually showed the finger to our coaches and actively went to another teams coach seeking asylum.
As the story goes, Sherman wanted to confront Wilson over the lousy game and somewhat down 2016, as was customary whenever someone's performance nose dived. It should be noted that Wilson sprained his ankle in week one and his MCL in week three. His mobility was lost to him for nearly the entire season. Still, Sherman wanted answers like he would ask of any teammate.
“That was a common thing to do, because often it was some outside factor affecting guys, family stuff, and you’d work through that,” an unidentified former Seahawks played told SI.
That idea didn't sit well with Bennett who apparently reminded his teammate that they only had one quarterback and the argument escalated to the point where the two had to be separated. Bennett seemed to be echoing head coach Pete Carroll's tract with Wilson. According to SI, Carroll specifically told his defense to lay off Wilson in an effort to keep his confidence up. Naturally, the defense didn't like that idea.

This also contradicts that Bennett was a locker room cancer....

Pete's Kool aid that he passed out last year was "Sherman just wouldn't reset. He always has in the past and this time he wouldn't". Meaning he would not drop his bitching and on the field team distractions that were on camera and questions were coming his way. Later there were many creditable trade rumors with no takers then his release.
There were also documented reports that Sherman was complaining Wilson was treated with kid gloves and not called out in team meetings enough.
Yes....1 + 1 still = 2
There are tons more obvious indicators, but you will see what you see so I'm not wasting time pointing them all out.

Very rarely does a credentialed member of the media (beat writer, local or nationally respected reporter) just make something up.
With these stories IMO it's where there's smoke there's fire.
Bottom line, there's a reason Pete and John cleaned house of certain players, and kept others.......and it wasn't 100% talent/cap related. So if you think it's 100% attitude, or 5%, there's still a percentage to assign that the players that are no longer here contributed to their own demise in Seattle with less then amazing attitudes about the direction of the team.

They like to take words out of context that's why Lynch didn't want to talk to the media. they will spin it the way they want to. Look what they did w/ Earl & just went down from there.
Speaking of Earl, if it was about attitude why was he still w/ the Seahawks? They would have shipped him out with the rest of the team. Could it be because Sherman was coming off an injury...Same for Bennett..

We spent an entire off season and up until Earl got hurt trying to ship him out.......and he hasn't been seen in or around the team since.
Should tell you everything you need to know.

Carroll anticipated a warm welcome for Sherman on Sunday.
"I think he's loved around here for all the great stuff that he did," Carroll said, adding that Sherman "did a lot of great stuff here. I don't think our fans think any differently than I do about that."
Middle linebacker Bobby Wagner agreed.
"He should be received with the loudest cheer that they can possibly cheer and the warmest of welcomes," said Wagner, a teammate of Sherman's for six seasons. "It's not like he said, 'I hate this team, I want to leave.' It was the business side of everything. So I would be surprised if they booed. If anybody booed, they didn't like him when he was here. I think he deserves the applause. He was a part of the team that helped bring the city the first football championship. I wouldn't expect anything other than respect."
