I guess this makes up for having to give Nawlins a pick for Graham, in addition to Unger.

I don't know how, since the Lions were the last team to cut him.

Even better that he came from the Saints. Relatively low acumen in evaluating defensive talent, they have.

...Star Wars week.

Lol, hilarious but true.

It was a questionable draft pick from the get go, regardless of his future performance. You just don't take a chance on a project player with a second rounder.

I think Sherman can tutor him on using his size as an advantage!

You do realize that we also got a 4th in that trade, don't you?

It was used, in part, to move up to draft No E.

The guy looks too heavy to be a shifty, quick and agile corner. 6ft3, 218 lbs? I wish he was about 10-18 lbs lighter.
In comparison, Sherman is 6ft3 195 lbs. Sherman is long and rangy, but he is not fast.
This guy seems to carry some 25 more lbs than Sherman.
Small shifty WRs will destroy him. Think Edelman, Amendola, ... It will be a challenge to get him right.

This is why I wonder if he could move into the strong safety role. His measureables are similar to Kam. A little smaller, a bit faster, not quite as strong at the combine. He hits like the Kamtrack freight train. I could see bulking this kid up a bit and giving him a shot.

Someone needs to find the next Jeremy Lane, not Sherman....we need actual CB that can run and play against the smaller faster WR's, the Antonio Brown, John Brown, Tavon Austin, Randall Cobb types....

I don't think this kid ever sees the field for Seattle....I don't think he's fast enough or elusive enough/tough enough to play CB or SS. maybe Free Safety but not holding my breath here.

Who better to coach him up that the Seahawks.
His beefier build kind of reminds me of Browner's.
Not saying he's another BB but we've yet to hear evaluations from the Coaching staff, so we can't call him a bust, nor can really rule him out as being a damned good Corner prospect.
He could be great (Coaching) at jamming Receivers at the line and that could be just enough to compensate for the more speedier Receivers.
Apparently the Seahawks saw something that intrigued them, and were willing to take a chance on him.

This kid could be SS or a CB he's a bigger Shead. And some of you I swear you look and measurables and right away insist because someone is big their slow. Well I've seen some pretty damn big fast people.

He's not fast enough or agile enough to play free safety in our system. Both his tape and measureables demonstrate this.

Really? On paper, he's faster and more agile than Shead.

I'm excited that they're giving him another opportunity.

It's nearly identical to ET's three-cone time.

His issues appear to be mental, because it's obvious the physical talent is there.

Here were a couple picks he dropped during the preseason before being released by New Orleans:

Just a couple adds here.

SJB was recruited to Nebraska as a WR and was converted to DB to add athleticism to that side of the ball.

He transitioned nicely and was a solid tackler and cover corner, with plus ball skills and soft hands.

The Big-10, however, isn't exactly loaded with top tier WRs and it sounds to me (one of my best friends here in Tulsa is a NEB booster) like his athletisism and instincts alone were good enough to play on the level there.

It's quite possible that the failure in this equation isn't with Stanley Jean-Baptiste at all, rather with the lack of coaching and patience in New Orleans and Detroit. The expectations of a 2nd rounder aren't "projects", rather plug and play. Our coaching staff is exactly what this raw, stud athlete needs in order to play on the level in the NFL. We may very well have reached out to him after NO originally cut him, being out bid by Detroit who offered a spot on the 53. It's our turn now.

Another great pickup by our guys.
