At least when he actually plays a full game I wont be nervous about him getting a season ending injury.

You should still be nervous. Harvin is a very physical player, which is great because it makes him a fantastic blocker and runner. But the downside is he gets hurt.

Just sucks being in this constant Harvin holding pattern.

Pete said that the team will "re-evaluate" Harvin's hip. More Pete Speak, which interpreted means he's likely going to be shut down at least until the playoffs, if not the rest of the season.

Even if he's good to go for this Sunday, I'd rather see him sit out another week.

Then in our final game of the regular season, give him a small workload of NFL action (10-12 snaps max), and NO KICKOFF RETURNS.

From that he can get his feet wet with NFL action, and have a couple weeks to recover/strengthen until our first playoff game.

This would be ideal imo.

Sounds about right. Even if he can't play, don't tell anyone that and put him in as a decoy.

For KO returns, put him and Turbin back there (some teams used to put 2 players in the EZ for KO returns), let Percy catch it if he's near it then do a reverse with Turbin. Everyone would flow towards Harving and Robert would smoke them...until he got to the kicker who would reach out and ankle tackle him.

j/k Robert Turbin :p Have a lot of respect for Turbo and what he brings to the table. It's very nice to not have to worry about fumbles when the ball is in Floyd R. Turbo's hands. And every time I think about how he took care of his sister, and how strong his character is, I realize that he is the perfect example a man's man. Too many people love to jump on him because he's not Marshawn Lynch, but he is an integral part of this team. :th2thumbs:

So quick all of you guys are to say bust, and just cashing checks... you think this guy doesnt want to play!? your crazy! You are just frustrated, but I bet you will all be cheering when he does produce this year, and helps the hawks win the superbowl.

I said the day we signed Harvin I wasn't happy with it. I won't go into my loooooong laundry list of reasons why, that would be redundant, but I would love to win the championship without Harvin. Should he come in and score some TDs, or set up a D so others can, yes I will be happy, but I will never be happy that he's a Hawk. I've taken a constant bashing for my perspective on all things Harvin...and couldn't care less.

Unlike a large portion of this fan base, I am a sports purist. I love sports for the stories of guys like Coleman, Turbin and even frikin' Tebow. Guys long on heart, even if short on talent. No, I'm not the Ruskell fan that would dump a player for a DUI, I understand the league is vast and it takes all kinds, but a guy like Harvin, who made things so uncomfortable for his school, then for a team generous enough to use a 1st rd pick on him, only to conduct himself like a cancer? I have no tolerance for that.

I just can't see rewarding this type with millions of dollars and constant, undeserved admiration. If he were my little brother, I would slap the piss out of him. The good news for me, not so much for (some of) you? After following his entire career, college and pro, Percy Harvin will never disappoint me. I know who and what he is. Don't let the smile fool ya'.

Can he turn it around? Well, he's young enough. Tebow was too much of a freak to have a positive effect on Harvin. Selecting Randy Moss to be his mentor was a terrible move @ Minn.... And Harvin is one of the reasons the Vikes got rid of Moss. They saw him poisoning Harvin's head. I sincerely hope Russell Wilson can work his magic with Harvin. . In the interim, I just hope Princess Percy does nothing to harm the chemistry of this team.

Being a huge Harvin fan since college, it blows he hasn't been on the field considering the contract/picks we gave to aquire him. Personally I'm pumped we have a great team and have been fine with out him. People are quick to call him the next Branch. I personally can't wait for him to get healthy so people stfu, even if it is next year.

Well with an update on Harvin announced for Wednesday, I am just going to assume the worst that he's out for the year.

If the news is that he's out till the playoffs, then great.

Are you referencing what Pete said in his press conference? He was simply talking about the routine Wednesday injury report... There is no special announcement about Harvin tomorrow as far as I know.

The Boz analogy may be very accurate. IF this hip problem has been on going, since college, then both the Boz and Harvin came to us under similar conditions. Switzer helped hide Boz's shoulder problems and it's likely Meyer did the same for Harvin. All I know is the Vikes must have us on speed-dial and we should change our number. Again, I feel terrible for Pete and John. They knew they were gambling and they may have lost. I can handle that...unless it creates problems with our organic guys. I won't be happy with Pete, at all, should that happen.

I hope he somehow plays before the playoffs, I just get nervous about trying a new toy come playoff time. I know our offense could use another weapon so i'll take what I can get.

I think most will agree, Harvin=Greatest Seahawk that Never Was. For now. We'll all be happy and excited right when/if he finally plays. I know I will! But in the meantime we're like kids on Christmas Eve. Frustrated we can't open our biggest present under the tree.

Oh OK, thanks. I got my info from PFT and, as usual, they make it sound more dramatic than it needs to be:

On Monday, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said that an update regarding receiver Percy Harvin will be coming on Wednesday. Whatever the update is, don’t expect to see him before the postseason.
