My science experiment coincided with the draft for some weird reason. A fun waste of three days - a mini vacation.

Today will be interesting - I’m even excited for UDFAs

Not a fan of swapping picks for more late round ammo. Seldom have any of those guys panned out.

It’s true that many late-round picks don’t succeed. Seattle has gotten key players there, however:

Kam Chancellor - 5th round
Richard Sherman - 5th round
Riq Woolen - 5th round
Byron Maxwell - 6th round
Chris Carson - 7th round
Malcolm Smith - 7th round
Doug Baldwin - UDFA

Well, I think there is some validity to the theory that numbers count on day three. As the draft progresses the less difference there is between relative positions. Maybe John can hit one of these for extra bases.

In a year where the team has several coaches who were coaching college just a year ago, the team likely has more information and familiarity with many of the late round prospects. The best way to maximize this advantage is more selections in the late rounds.
